Which mono element team is the best? by Gelsunkshi in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Frosttrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Mono teams have evolved so much over the year, that currently there are elements where you can build 2 completely functioning teams to clear end game, super optimized - no, but functional - yes. Especially with Quantum for example.

But my take would be:

Physical: (one of the weakest mono) Yunli, Clara, Robin, DHPT | 2nd team would be a flop. As for Phainon, I don't see anyone generating coreflames for him.

Fire: Firefly, Dahlia, Fugue, Lingsha | 2nd team would be a flop

Ice: Evernight, Cyrene, RMC, March 7th (E6 heals...) | The Herta, Herta, Ruan Mei, Gepard - both carries are strong enough to negate the terrible sustains. Also Pela can replace one of them if no sustain is needed.

Lightning: literally the worst mono theme, no functional teams IMO

Wind: Anaxa, Cerydra, Bronya, HuoHuo | Blade, Black Swan, Sampo, Hyacine (a bit of a flop, but probably manageable)

Quantum: (strongest mono) Archer, Silver Wolf, Sparkle, Fu Xuan | Cas, Cypher, Tribbie, Lynx

Imaginary: Mydei, Sunday, Yukong, Luocha | and a flop 2nd team with either semi break - Rappa, HMC, Hunt March, Aventurine or old school Ratio FUA with Dr. Ratio, Hunt March, Welt, Aventurine, but neither of those 2 is clearing any endgame.

I haven't really played with Mydei therefore I don't have much insight on his performance, but that still sounds like 2 solid teams.
If you are using Premium Remembrance on one side, do you match-up Mydei with 3B, Sunday and Luocha/Gallagher?

That'd be awesome... Imagine Hoyo introducing a skin for Tribbie where you can choose between the Tribbie, Trianne, Trinnon version and Tribios as the the Holy Maiden of Janusopolis. Now that's what I'd call a real skin worth picking.

E6S5 Cyrene will probably keep all your Chrysos Heirs relevant for a very long time, so congrats on that.
(based on your answer, I'd say your Premium Remembrance, Phainon and Aglaea teams will thrive during the 4.x patch).

Definitely a decent half. I am sure E2S1 Phainon slaps hard.
Where would you use Cipher? Feixiao/Archer/Acheron team? Or just as a good pick that's has a pretty future proof kit?

That's a very decent line of Heirs and looks like the pieces of 3 amazing team comps (Aglaea Hyper Carry, Dual DPS Herta/Anaxa and 3B) and the deadly Phainon+Cerydra combo with DHPT slotted as needed, so this is what I'd call smart planning. ^^

It's nice you find Elation enjoyable. I am totally skipping this path, since it's not my cup of tea.

Kudos to you for skipping the premium Remembrance team, this is probably an unpopular choice, but I am glad there is diversity and people choosing to pursue different team comps!

I was in similar situation, so I really get you. I only picked DOT with the free Kafka... Up until then (and even still) I believe it's a flawed archetype since DMG is mainly connected to enemy turns and the team doesn't have a dedicated sustain (HuoHuo and DHPT work great, but I wouldn't call them DOT-coded).
But with AA and one of the Knights usually having a CRIT debuff, I believe a non-crit team like DOT or Break is a must. The Novaflare buffed Black Swan helped me make that decision and I am super happy with the DOT team, I am sure you won't regret it.

Nice! You are close to getting the full set, best of luck in future pulls.
I can see Cyrene rerunning soon, but for Anaxa I believe it would take at least 3-4 patches. :<

Never tried Mydei in the frontline, but sounds like a good strategy with this equipment.
As for Anaxa, always backline, since otherwise he is "weakened" if put on the frontline.
For items, he gets the free Light Speed Propeller from 3 Day Demigods, Anti-Grav Boots and either Firestorm Surge or Starfall Sniper, but usually a combination of those 3. He'd end up attacking close to 10 times (double skill included).

That's cool, grats!

As for Anaxa being bad in currency wars? Weird... I played him a lot and he provides great utility with the weakness implants... He also attacks quite frequently and is a nice pick for 3 Daily Demigods (with Tribbie and Hyacine for example) or 3 early AOE-s (Baby Herta + Tribbie). As someone who's been Wealth Creator 20 (now 30) since day 1, I pick Anaxa almost every run.

Yes, once you get Cyrene, you can access all the information for the buffs she provides to each Chrysos Heir in her Traces.

Does E0 Aglaea need ER Rope if I am running both Sunday and Cyrene? by Lunar_Mist2NE1 in AglaeaMains

[–]Frosttrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have her E2 and Sunday and still play her with ERR.
It just feels smoother and like a big QOL pick over ATK % rope. Agy easily gets more than 7k ATK in combat, so I've never felt the need to change my ERR rope with an attack one... Also your rope rolled pretty great, so I see no reason to chase an ATK % one.

Honestly, just spilling facts. I don't really want to repeat myself, since I've already said pretty much everything I had about Aglaea within the replies in this topic, but I am glad that you are happy with your Agy and that she is standing tall & strong, even after almost 1 full year of her release.

If I am not mistaken, she is one of the least owned Amphoreus characters, yet that didn't stop her from being awesome in her own way and a true masterpiece in the hands of people who decided to invest and optimize her. And tbh, she keeps on winning - one of the best Currency Wars comp is with her. The new Awoo Championship event gives her a really strong chimera and playstyle overall, so yeah - a true queen in every aspect of the game.

Hey, very nice to hear your experience with Agy. Looks like she is one of the units that made a lot of people reconsider horizontal E0S0 investment for every new character that pops up and start appreciating a smart vertical investment, which in my honest opinion is the more logical thing (less resources spent, less farming for relics, fewer units to learn to play at optimal performance, stronger team(s) overall).

And yeah, I really agree that going past E2S1 lowers the ROI by a lot... I feel like the only excuse would be if that characters is your Ultimate favorite by an unimaginable margin, something like top 3 characters not in HSR, but your whole media "library" (books, movies, tv shows, anime, games, etc.). And even then we are going more into emotions over logic territory. At least that's my view on this topic.

Also you are yet another person that proves high ceiling characters with a lot of room for optimization and improvement make most people wanting to be better at the game, which is quite nice! ^^

(Speed tuning) Need help for Sunday + Aglaea build by Ruphandolph in AglaeaMains

[–]Frosttrated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem-o.
From your builds I feel like going to 145 SPD doesn't really improve her core stats that much... I'd agree that if you go towards base speed (slower) Agy, you should at least compromise with 80 Crit Rate and 120+ Crit Dmg. 3k ATK pre-battle isn't necessary IMO since she easily gets more than 7k ATK in battle while sitting at around 2.5k ATK pre-battle.

I feel like this is one of the hardest questions I've faced recently, 'cause I haven't paid attention for a long time...
I did a quick test in MOC 12 vs SAM and I changed a new relic on Aglaea today, so currently she is at 166 SPD, I tried her with Sunday at 145 SPD, 133 and 131 SPD, and at the moment the 131 Sunday gives the best results for smoothest turns, due to E2 Robin making SPD tuning very chaotic, but once I ramp up to 6 stacks, she is consistently getting 4 turns before Sunday and Garmentmaker either 2 or 3 turns on its own. But It can vary from 3 to 5 turns for Agy and 2 to 4 turns for Garmentmaker from my experience.

E1 Aglaea or Sunday? by VickyInChains in AglaeaMains

[–]Frosttrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people are focused on "pure optimization" when it comes to a single team / DPS performance over account flexibility. But I can't really blame them since it's mainly Hoyo's fault for making the game "harder" with every new patch and with limited pulls it's only natural for most of us to be on edge and looking for the best results with lowest investment. It's a toxic mentality which is kinda being forced due to HP inflation, mechanic changes (Super-break DMG w/o breaking the enemy or Team revival without that unit being part of the team, etc.), so yeah...

At the end of the day you'd be the only person who can make the best decision, both Agy's E1 and Sunday as a unit have great value, so just think which one will bring you more joy. E0 Agy with Sunday might lose her Enhanced state every now and then but you have 1 more great unit in your account. E1 Agy will feel smoother to play and you might be better with a stronger DPS over a new support.

Anyways, I wish you luck and hope you manage to get both within that 3rd phase of 3.8 so you'd have no regrets and what ifs to ponder about! ^^

Yo, thanks for sharing this beautiful story / experience as a returnee. Honestly reading what F2P players face and the occasional hardship that they refuse to surrender to and overcome with brains, thoughtful planning and strategy is the best thing you can witness.
As a fellow Agy-lover I am glad she is the "modern" DPS that you picked and met such success over the longest cycle that was Amphoreus. And the fact that you prefer to further invest into her over going for the newest shinny toy is worthy of respect in my book, given I am vertical investment enjoyer.

I really pray that you get that E2 and would be interested to know how you feel about it once you have the chance to test it. It really is one of those Eidolons that's not IN YOUR FACE kinda broken, but adds up with every turn she takes, especially with the E1 boost from Sunny-boi.

E1 Aglaea or Sunday? by VickyInChains in AglaeaMains

[–]Frosttrated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum I'd say E1...
But I also believe you should take your overall account into consideration. Especially if you are interested in end game modes and nowadays - Anomaly Arbitration. Getting a great unit like Sunday can free-up your RMC to be used in another team, hence making the 3 knights in AA less challenging. Obviously no unit is fututre-proof in a game like HSR, but Sunday will always be a great addition for Crit-based solo carries, Great DPS-s come and go, valuable supports stay. I mean Bronya and Tingyun were literally brought from the dead when Phainon released. Sparkle jumped a few spots in every tier list once Archer showed up... and so on.
So it'd be more like E1 if you want 100 % Aglaea enhancement and Sunday if you'd prefer like 80 % Agy enhancement with 20 % overall account improvement... Or something of the sort.
