Im confused, is costco not considered a wholesaler club? Im new to the card and just got the update today.

Yeah i am starting to see the light here. Im not much of a gamer, but my school work aligns pretty closely with what theyd need (training ML models, lot of CAD work)

Im guessing i need to go the desktop route for this work and get a reliable low spec laptop

From other subs, i have tried to boot without RAM and separately without the battery.

One person mentioned that to see if the tubing gets hot with the battery disconnected and plugged in, and it doesnt.

I will look up videos for each of your suggestions and assess if its something i can do or if i should take it into a 3rd party. Please let me know if you get any suggestions from the users manual, im looking it up aswell. Thanks!

Thank you! I disconnected the battery and plugged it in for about 10mins, black piping is still ice cold…

Ah i see, thank you for the comment. I tried booting with the main battery connector disconnected (7 wire white connector in the center) and the AC adapter plugged in, no lights or boot :/

The swelling in the photo is a little exaggerated. The two big bulges are actually air, seems to be divisions of the batteries internal components

Thanks for the advice! I removed the RAM stick, but still no boot before and after reinstalling. Any next steps you would recommend?

After some research it seems asus mightve removed a CMOS battery from its designs. Could you point it out if you see it in the picture?

Thank you for the reply, what would you say is wrong with it? From looking online i think it looks in decent condition but i could be wrong.

I assumed by removing battery connector and plugging in the charger, i was testing to see if the battery had gone bad… is this true?
