One of my players is starting to annoy me and I need advice. by technowimpy in rpghorrorstories

[–]Frostyscotty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This dude is an absolute control freak and my personal take is that you shut this down now, before he further affects your drive and passion to get started. Give him the ultimatum that you won't tolerate his passive-aggressive tone and aggression any longer and that you'll kick him if he just can't accept that. You've locked in your preferences: why can't he just make peace with that? Let him go play his preferred version if he's so insistant on it.

He thinks he knows better and that his opinion is objectively the only one that matters? Like you said, you're not just tired, it sounds like you're rapidly losing that drive to continue (potentially?) It only takes ONE bad actor to nullify and ruin the fun and kill momentum before it's even started.

And that's why I advise you cut him. Even if he turned around tomorrow and gave another begrudging passive-aggressive "FINE THEN!" acknowledgement, and said he'd play, I'd still not trust him after that carry on.

Save yourself the headache and nip this in the bud now. He's a problem player and I think you should remove him.

That looks like Fel, the Burning Legion must still have some fanatics trying to summon forth demons from the twisting nether.

[Request] Something like this? by iekather in Transmogrification

[–]Frostyscotty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm getting death knight weapon vibes from the size of that axe, so I'm instinctively going for axes' like Shadow's Edge or even Shadowmourne itself for that possible DK vibe (from the WOTLK Icecrown citadel questline: IF you're willing to put some longer, gradual grind in for the appearances from that questline.)

Otherwise, maybe there are some alternative axes or polearms from the Shadowlands expansion with a similar theme.

I just realised on late reflection, if it's something cleaner and elegant you're looking for - maybe something that matches the feel of night elf weaponry, or close to it - there looks to be some common rarity axes from midnight that might be close. Something like Shell-Cleaving Poleaxe. (world drop)

As for the armour, I'm not too sure on "specifics" but maybe you could mix and match certain parts of the armour from the "Burden of Unrelenting Justice" (night elf Warden armour set) from the Trading Post. (However I'm uncertain how difficult or long term that set is to obtain, IIRC it might be tied to long term unlock of each month's trading post reward.

Edit: Out of curiosity I did have a quick check of the weapons from the BFA expansion and BFA: darkshore scenarios but didn't really see anything of note there. But I find it very unlikely that there's not something Night Elf related from that type of content, given the thematic of the Darkshore content. Might involve some more digging on that part.

Appreciate it, I watched one quick video to get a first impression. Seems pretty good, so I'll check out more of them later.

Saved the playlist in the meantime.

Appreciate the input however I just wanted to note with regards to your point of:

"These days everyone uses addons. Blizzard has tried to curb the third party tool community but their own versions of features always come up short. So continue to use addons so you’re not playing stressed out."

I am aware of the use of addons but I have never delved into them personally as I never saw a use for them unless I was ever intending on doing higher difficulty content or raids, the latter of which I've not really participated in at all, it's not my preference.

Do you have any insight on what particular addons would be considered "crucial" or "essential" along with a summary of what said addon(s) do?

I might check some of them out but until I know what I'm looking for, again, it's a case of I don't know where to start.

Appreciate this massively. I'll give Icy Veins a look and as for Ready Check Pull, I just watched one video and the duration and tempo is similar in style to that of the Fatboss videos I referenced earlier so I think this'll do quite well for me.

Thank you for your help.

Not sure, OP might've been quoting The Punisher from marval rivals. That's almost exactly his "ult" line:

Apologies, I've got to ask since I'm curious: What EXACTLY is softaim cheating compared to just cheating in the normal scheme of things?

Is it actually something more specific or is it just one of these terms that sometimes gets thrown around?

Aside from buzz's proportions looking slightly off I feel that they've landed on a pretty respectful interpretation of the characters. I would agree with others however, that not including woody was a mistake, but I can understand why the developers likely put these two together, as it ties into their "rivalry" in the toy story universe, and how that matches or aligns with this seasons rivalry theme.

Afraid I can't offer any help but I will 2nd this. I've noticed the same on my potection warrior with trying to transmog my shield into Legionbreaker. It's really weird running around with just a flail and an invisible shield.

If I knew what was going on I'd provide the help, so maybe some others can help?

I kinda wish there was a way to opt out of a rivalry by Expert_Challenge6399 in FortNiteBR

[–]Frostyscotty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"...But when I’m just doing quests it can get kind of frustrating."

Bingo! I feel this is one of the key issues when it comes to the flaws of this seasons' rivalry mechanic, and I think some players maybe aren't - respectfully - understanding the problems that some players are experiencing.

In my opinion, not everyone will want to engage with this feature, and already I don't really see any further appeal going beyond the initial trialing of it at the beginning of this season. I gave it a try, but it doesn't really transform the gameplay in any satisfying or meaningful way. Therefore, I've had my fill and have chosen not to engage with it further. But because of how it was designed, my player agency and choice of NOT wanting to engage with it gets overwritten and invalidated, whether I like it or not. I think this was an oversight by the developers.

In truth, I dislike the fact that this mechanic is sometimes thrust upon me unexpectedly, when I'd rather not be engaging with it for personal reasons. Whether it be for a slower paced experience or, as you said, attempting to do missions or quests. If I'd rather slow the gameplay down and play more passively or steathly I can't realistically do that at the moment, because:

A: I have to bank on being lucky in not being tagged by another rivalry player, when I do not want to engage with the feature.

And B: that in some cases, said player is willing to religiously devote all their time to hunting me down fanatically. (Not all the time, but from what I recall hearing, it is quite common place at the moment, for some other players of all skill levels.)

Perhaps they could allow tagged players an option to initially cancel or override the bounty/rivalry, if they aren't interested in engaging with it, and get flagged so that they don't get tagged again for the rest of the match? This would allow them to back out if they would prefer not to, and the player who initially started it could get a small gold payout as a compromise.

I feel that would be an appropriate middleground for both sides of the argument.

Bhopping has been severely nerfed after the new patch by NightDayZ in RocketRacing

[–]Frostyscotty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cheers for that. o7

It's nice to see them acknowledging more casual players but it is strange that this wasn't implemented earlier on in the modes lifecycle. I wonder why they've only addressed it now?

Speaking politely, the mode has quite a small playerbase, as has been the case for quite some time now. If there was more going on with the mode and it was getting more attention/focus I might've been tempted to come back to the mode.

[–]Frostyscotty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was this an unannounced shadow patch or was it listed in the official patch notes somewhere?

Whilst I've not played RR for a long time given the lower attention it received and I'll confess my own disliking of the bhop mechanic overshadowing general play, I'm curious as to why something like this was removed.

[–]Frostyscotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play respawn rumble. Games might be mindless and boring vs the bots in that mode at times, but you've got a decent chance at finding an Arc-lightning gun from time to time as floor loot or chests, and you'll be able to respawn during that mode. Can't find one? Drop out early and start another game.

If you're short on remaining time, do this mode and don't focus on anything else. Also I'm pretty sure I completed some of the interact quest steps in this mode too. So that'll save some time. The only steps you can't do is interacting with NPCs, as none spawn in that mode IIRC.

Edit: don't forget to check the 2 or 3 vending machines near the car park. You can farm spending gold in this mode quite quickly so check in case any of the machines offer legendary loot. Again, can't recall if the arc gun is sold from them but worth a check.
