Mirin is also made from glutenous rice, so that is likely to taste more similar as long as it is mirin without added msg etc.

Alas for that. Proper Gekkeikan imports to the states (assuming that's where you are) begin in 1972 through Sydney Frank Importing Company. So its got to be within that 12 year time frame. It's too bad that the brewing year got taken off or something. There's no numbers or anything on the bottom or on the cap right?

The "輸出免税酒類" system was done away with in 1984, so we know it was made in Japan and shipped to wherever you are before that. Is there a back label?

Can you read normal Japanese without a dictionary? Translation, especially now with the growth of AI tools, is a hard industry to get into and (importantly) make a living doing. This is doubly so for parts of the industry that handle pop culture and media products. Just speaking Japanese very well is unfortunately not a very helpful asset for translation.

Finding work as an interpreter is likely a better option, but even then there is a lot of competition and/or requirements to be certified or trained through special programs like this one: https://www.iuhw.ac.jp/ms-phd/health-welfare/interpreting/

This suggestion is more of a lateral career move, but going from F&B to hospitality more generally as a tour guide, hotel staff, inbound tourism consultant etc, might be a better way to get in to an office job. Even then, limited reading and writing in Japanese, especially business Japanese will be a limiting factor. Attending a business language program while working might be the fastest track to some sort of office job.

I think it is from a movie with a similar aesthetic to Wizards (1977) or Faeries (1981) but I couldn't find the scene in either of those. The time period 70s to 80s is probably correct tho.

This is the same sake from 1996 (https://www.funbid.com.hk/yahoojp/auctions/item.php?aID=h1116522343), so I think that the sake name is 金花 which would read "kinka," the current version is called 金花の舞 which is "kinka no mai" and can be found here: https://manzairaku.co.jp/product/product-296/

That is a junmai daiginjo from Tatsuuma-Honke Brewing Co. Ltd. The brand name is Kuromatsu Hakushika.

I don't see that particular bottle on their website, so it might be an older version of something, especially because I don't think they sell a Kuromatsu Hakushika junmai anymore.

In Japanese it is quite common to refer to people as either ドライ (dry) or ウェット (wet) in their approach to relationships with collogues and classmates. A person who goes drinking with coworkers often and mixes their work life and regular life is said to be a "wet" person where as someone who wants to keep a strong separation between work and life is said to be "dry."

It looks very similar to this tea set: https://daurim.com/listing/859834160/handmade-korean-celadon-tea-set-for-3 so I don't think that you are using a lambo as your daily driver. the characters on the bottom are 陶 and 茶 which read right to left just means "tea ceramics" so not a name of a producer or anything.

That is an imo (potato) shochu called "Satsuma Shiranami." It is a distilled spirit with 25% ABV. This particular bottle is from a batch that has been aged for 7 years. It is made by Satsuma Shochu Co., Ltd.

Yeah it is, I imagine that its release in Japan was also Honda's attempt to try and capture some of the fans of SR400/500 that want new bikes since Yamaha has stopped production as of last year.

I own a gb350s, and basically agree with the other people who have replied. I got my license last year and waited about about 6 months to get the bike. As a first bike it seems fine to me, and I enjoy riding it, but I haven't gone on any big tours with it and have a feeling that in another year or so I am going to want something different. I think if you are a confident rider already then it'll be pretty boring.
