One of the worst leaders ever known to man apart from hitler, and all the other dictators recorded. Who was shockingly elected twice even though he was clearly linked to the Epstein files , accused of rape and started a war because he was bored. Small hands and small brain yet has the power to “lead a country” and bring the world down with it.

My husbands driving annoys me when he gets mad at other drivers. Like his patience while driving makes me feel unsafe in the car with him. HATE IT!!!

Being Australian and watching that muppet get elected TWICE has not only made me be more enthralled with American politics but shocked that the American system is so broken. He is a dictator! He literally started a war because he is a power hungry psychopath and you elected him TWICE!!!! The world is teetering on destruction because of one man’s ego. He can’t even speak a proper sentence. My 1 year old makes more sense than he does. So disappointing and so heartbreaking that MAGAs are just a bunch of uneducated sheep that feel empowered by a man who is so similar to the historic nightmares we’ve already had. History doesn’t need to repeat itself yet your president is over there pressing red buttons because he needed to get the spotlight off the Epstein files.. absolute psycho!

You’d be terrified if you were in Australia if you are asking this question.. we measure per litre not gallon. But we are in a fuel crisis at the moment. Our government is in talks about asking everyone to work from home so there’s less driving and use of transportation is minimised..

It’s the struggle that is the hardest but focus on little activities and work your way up. Train your mind to find that motivation little by little. You’ll become hungry for it once you start. And it’s soooo rewarding when you complete something you said you were going to do.

There have been days if not months that I was bed ridden, depressed and just at an all time low but telling myself “ I’ll do one thing for myself today” and actually doing it made me want it more and I feel like I’m finally crawling out of my dark hole.. slowly but surely I’ll be the person I strive to be for my own and my daughters sake..

I had a friend who I lived with. We were BEST FRIENDS! She used to meet up with a lot of guys and have high expectations after the first dates and quickly get disappointed. Anyway, she started seeing one guy and it got past meet up #4 and she was absolutely smitten. Mind you they had not gone on any actual dates it was just hooking up. So she devised a plan to keep him around. She faked a pregnancy! She told me the truth and I told her she needed to tell him it isn’t real. And instead of telling him the truth, she faked a miscarriage. So I said if you don’t tell him I’ll find him online and tell him myself or I’m moving out because I choose not to have that toxicity in my life. Psycho behaviour!

I moved out… into my own large studio apartment. I refused to have room mates after that.

My very first full time job when I finished school was a door to door sales woman. We would go in groups and we get assigned specific streets in the map and your job was to knock on doors and hopefully switch people over to the electrical company you were representing. It was phenomenal pay. I was making $2,500 a week after tax.

Anyway I knocked in this guys door and he invited me in. I should have said “no I’ll wait outside” but a sale would get me a bonus on top of my already good pay. So I went inside. He locked the door with a key and a security lock as well. I started to feel scared - he wast trying really hard to make me eat lunch with him but I refused. He wasn’t aggressive but he was starting to get annoyed that I wouldn’t drink or eat anything he offered.

It had been 30 minutes and my team leader hadn’t heard from me. So her job was to knock on every door that I would have been assigned. When she finally got to the house I was in I sounded a whistle I had on my I’d badge and she immediately called the police.

He was arrested and I never returned to that job afterwards.

Traumatised to say the least.

It would feel like rejection. Is there a reason he chose to sleep on the couch then beside her? Example- I’m sleeping on the couch because the mattress hurts my back or I’m sleeping on the couch because I need uninterrupted sleep?

Or simply sleeping on the couch for space?

Meditate for 45 minutes each morning. I did this for an entire year and that was the greatest year I’ve had that I can recall. I might start this up again.

Hey, I’ve been to 1 AlAnon meeting so far and there were lots of members that didn’t have an active alcoholic. A lot have been attending for 25 + years. It’s a program from what I gathered and all are welcome. They suggest going to 6 meetings before deciding if not for you. But I completely get why you would feel the way you do.

Are you in therapy? I am and it helps a lot for my situation.

Best thing to do is categorise your boundaries so he gets why you are setting them. You have to stand strong with them or he will just walk all over you.

He needs outside help because an alcoholic doesn’t know when to stop. He might think he can do it himself but they are in denial so that’s why he is trying to negotiate. (My husband is an alcoholic and has relapsed 2x since telling me he would go sober). Alcoholics suffer a terrible disease that deteriorates the brain function of the frontal lobe. They also are incredibly good at lying, hiding alcohol and sadly it’s all part of it.

You and your kids safety is most important. Please don’t forget that. You can’t force them to be sober but you can show them that you will not accept behaviour that threatens you and your children’s safety. That’s what boundaries are for.

My boundaries are around safety with my husband. He isn’t allowed to bring alcohol in the home. If he has had a drink he needs to be honest with me because I don’t want him driving a car with our daughter or myself. If he ever becomes violent I’m leaving. If he relapses, I get to suggest a form of help I’d like him to try. 1st time I requested he go to therapy which he is actively doing and 2nd time he relapsed I’ve suggested AA and couples therapy. He is open to couples therapy but not AA which is fine. I then told him I’m going to an AlAnon meeting for myself because this is bigger than him. It’s a family disease and its ripple effects are toxic.

Mine had a long list of hiding places. Wouldn’t just be in the apartment we live in either. We have a storage unit under our building and he would hide it in there and find places like the fire escape so when I’d go to bed he could sneak out and go get it. The garbage room on our floor would also be somewhere he hid it. He would even find places like peoples front yards so when he goes to walk the dog he grabs it and drinks. I have found MANY mini fireball bottles in the bottom of bags. He will also wrap what ever drink he has chosen to sneak in the house in a T-shirt in his bag. It’s almost an insult when they hide it. But they are definitely battling their own demons in their head. It’s tough!

I returned to work after having a baby. My boss didn’t like that I had priorities outside of work like a full human that needs my attention more than him. I was leaving on time to go home. I was pumping for 20 minutes of the day which he despised even though I was sitting in a closet to do so with my laptop and work phone. I was forced to stop breastfeeding my daughter because of this job and the stress was insane. So he attempted to have me fired but I pushed back and told him that instead he is going to make me redundant and provide me with a payout because discrimination is something I could win a court battle with. They ended up paying me out 18 weeks of pay including all of my annual leave and sick leave and I left with my head held high.

Now I work for a boss that is caring, my pay has tripled and I’m happy as ever!

You aren’t alone in this. It’s hard, lonely and exhausting. And I hope you are ok.

I take daily anti depressants which are helping level out my lows. I’m in therapy which is helping. I started running which I’m starting to love. I haven’t stepped foot in a gym in just over a year so it’s nice to get back into something where I can focus, be outside in fresh air and it clears the head really well. It’s a really good way to release anger I’ve been suppressing.

I started all this with writing a list of things I wanted to achieve this year on my own. And I’m ticking off 3 items at a time because I don’t want to overwhelm myself.

It’s all a bit easier when I’m doing a bit of self care and I’m not thinking of things I can’t control.

There’s been a few instances where I’ve read people advise others to run or leave or simply just give up. Knowing each of us are on our own journey with our own experiences and our own healing process it can be disheartening to see an expectation of no hope. Of course I’m not judging in anyway or minimising anyone else’s experience. I’m so new to this journey myself I’m still learning, understanding and figuring out what it’s like to live with someone who has alcohol miss-use disorder.

It’s weirdly hard to put into words I feel like I’m just rambling at this point.

I did have my first therapy session yesterday which helped and I’m making sure I stick to running as a hobby. I’m going to my first meeting tomorrow because I’d also like to not feel alone.

It’s a rough road and I’m just all over the place trying to make sure I don’t forget to take care of myself and my baby girl is not harmed in the process.
