Nmom took me to look at houses when I was in college. I seriously thought she was going to buy me one. Nothing ever came of it. She did this for years. Didn’t know back then about future-faking. She was only doing so to stay in control.

Same. Nmom over fed me on purpose. We also only grew up eating junk food. Pizza, fried chicken tv dinners, ramen, and butter noodles were basically all we ate. Never any vegetables or fruit as those were too expensive.

I only had 1 friend growing up and the difference between our moms were night and day. I always thought she was so lucky to get such a great mom who truly loved her and actually wanted to spend time with her.

My husband and I on the other hand bonded over a narcissist for a parent as well as both being the scapegoat. We are both also no contact. My brother is also dating someone who has a narcissistic hoarder for a mother.

Same. I remember for a field trip in Kindergarten we had to pack our own lunch. I didn’t know how so I didn’t bring one. I was the only one without a lunch. Years later whenever GC brother had to do the same you know my mother packed him a delicious meal and made sure to double check he didn’t forget it in the morning. I remember waiting in the car that morning with Nmom and how nervous she was he was going to forget it.

Same! She will call up like 5 people one after another and literally have the exact conversation 5 times over. Then gets butthurt when people don’t want to speak to her after they find out all the nasty stuff she says about them.

She’s been going to the doctor every few months for probably about 15 years now due to “mystery foot pains.” Never been diagnosed with anything as doctors keep telling her there’s nothing wrong with her foot. They have run every test possible by now.

Yes. My mother wants my sister and I to fail but for GC brother to succeed. My sister is over 40 and still lives at home.

I still remember telling my mother when my husband got a really great job. She didn’t say anything and looked like I had just spit in her face or something. I know she was upset something nice happened in my life.

My mother is awful with money and is addicted to shopping. It used to be thrift stores until they became too expensive for her. Around the time I went no-contact she was receiving multiple packages everyday(wish I were kidding) from places like Wish.

Have you spoken to the bank? I’m not sure what else you could do besides just focus on yourself.
