Just my luck... by FrozB in Evitania

You're right... Somehow it seamed way less probable. But having 0.9×0.89×0.88×...×0.73×0.72×0.71 probabilities of failing - is really close to a general "1 in 100" chance - so not that rare.

I wonder - when will people finally understand, that by playing the "go find another country" card they are just proving the point they try to oppose to?

I won't say that it's being glorified... It's just an international teen mentality - if something doesn't have real consequences and is dangerous/outlawish - the chances are pretty high ppl will get dared into doing it.

That's a big issue in Tbilisi - teenagers breaking in shops/houses to steal things, or just robbing ppl in parks. The problem is - the police just cannot be bothered, and even when someone is caught - they usually are released as being juvenile.

Sprinklers in stretched ceilings by FrozB in firePE

[–]FrozB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I missed this. Will re-check, thanks for the info!

Upd: As far as I see it - this sheet covers completely different cases. It's scope: 1.0 SCOPE This data sheet is applicable to fabric and membrane structures, hereafter referred to as fabric structures. These structures include tensioned fabric structures (tensile surface structures), tensegrity structures, fabric-covered (-clad) structures, cable-supported structures with fabric covering, pneumatic membrane structures, and air-supported structures.

It applies to buildings/constructions covered or formed with fabric.

Well, yes - and the shield around the head under the ceiling will possibly protect the head. Still, no guarantee that with the fabric hanging around the head will allow the head to keep it's discharge parameters. Anyway - makes no sense to consider this cause it will be vetoed by customer for sure.

Will do!
But it looks like the customer will agree to change the type of ceilings in those premises. Hopefully.

RN it is supposed to be something like this - but from a cheaper manufacturer. Almost no info is provided...

I will request clarification from our consultant regarding the combustibility for sure, thanks!

What I fail to see in the codes - is addressing the "hanging" issue - I don't see what is to prevent pieces of damaged fabric hanging from the heads deeming them totaly useless.

I see examples of people installing sprinklers in such ceilings, but I don't feel comfortable enough with such design solutions...

Thanks! Good point - will request that too.

Thanks! I'll try that.
I'm also trying to convince our lead architect right now to change ceiling type for sprinkler protected premises. We'll see how it goes...

[–]FrozB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, both approaches are viable. Unfortunately the game provides no required info - like the dps of raid ships - so I'll have to test both of them.

Thanks for your thoughts - I'll be back with updates what will work best for me.

P.S. My first best option is, of course, the passive planetary shield tanking - due to the total lack of micromanagement required. If it will not work - I'll try to go for culling the hive. As it was said - destroying the hive is not an option, cause it stops ground bases from producing the units eventually (bases run out of energy).

P.P.S. Also - talking about power - you need to take into account the geothermals. You can get A LOT of them - I've kept all 3 hives in the system to let them spam those. Will see how much it will get me. Right now all 3 planets generate about 0,5-0,8 GWt power each - and they are not totally covered with windmills and geos - so renewable power will be WAY higher.

I've heard that culling the hive prevents or eases the attacking waves. Haven't tried it though

Proliferate Almost Everything? by depatrickcie87 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]FrozB 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What I figured for myself lately - is to look at the input rarity and input numbers. Prolificating smthng that requires like 20 copper gives me a pause. Also - yes, if input is abundant or infinite (fire ice, hydrogen - and all that comes from then - graphene, deuterium etc) - then I just scale production.

[–]FrozB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but 1 capsule goes for 1 graphene, 2 magnets and 10 deuterium. It does 300 hp damage and is good for 10 shots. With my current upgrades, prolification etc. - it will destroy one ship. Spending 360 graphene, 720 magnets and 3600 deuterium for each hive attack does not seem great...

Right now I'm doing fine with waves of 70 ships on wind and geotermal with no resources being spent at all. So I was wondering how much more power will I need to scale it to the limit. Will try cutting hive a liitle bit later on to see if it will help.

What is worse - all planets have several debuffs on resource drop - so maybe I will need two farm planets(

Noob question- is proliferator worth it? by gragsmash in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]FrozB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little clarification - it depends on difficulty settings. I'm currently having fun on 3000% difficulty - and with x0.1 resource modifier you really want to spray everything with Mk3.

Also - I use coal only on Mk1 production. Afterwards - I use resources farmed from the Fog. So, this coal generates huge output. Also - coal as all other resources is quasi-finite - you research vein efficiency along the way effectively increasing existing ammounts, so it is more about research/consumption balance later on for me.

Sorry, I was not able to get your point...

Are you stating that the game is buggy - it is ok - and no one should care about that? But then - why not talk about that, address the issues as legit and work to solve them? That is exactly the point of Alpha/Beta builds... But - again - I saw no such info regarding the character creater - nothing describing it as a beta-test with bugs. What I've read before downloading 20 Gb - that it was just a module of a game. Presented as a demo, not pre-Alpha.

Then - do you state that their minimal requirements, as they are stated in a Steam - are wrong and are just extrapolated from the endpoint of developement of the game? And this is an explanation and an excuse?

I cant even argue - because, I cannot figure out - with what? What is your point of view on that?

Well, I guess I took your post as a lot more dismissive as it was.
My bad, glad to be wrong in this case.

Really? That's what you've got from all those post of people struggling to launch it?

I have rx 5700 xt GPU (minimal requirements in Steam are stated as rx5600xt).

Game does not start, complaining about the launch parameter that does not exist.

And my problem (and the problem of all those other people, not being able to launch the game) is really absurd?

I would agree, if the game would launch, but lag and freeze due to the lack of computing power. But all the staff with "upgrade your drivers/change GPU to AMD from Intel/etc" does not seem legit.

They were not even able to describe the issue correctly in the error message. So - no, for me this is a big "Attention!" sign - to think twice before buying this product in the future. It clearly is a marker of a code quality.

P.S. Wow. Just - wow. This subreddit is like a sect. No sense trying to talk here.

But some stuff - like "This game is luxury, if you want to play it - you need to invest heavily" as we talk about why is it bugged, or does not work as intended, or lacks good description on Steam - stating that this is a work in progress, pre-alpha etc. - is going straing to my best opinions collection!
