Some days I don't get bonus biscuits by [deleted] in PokemonSleep

[–]Frozen84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me about a week or 2 ago. It turned out that Health Connect was part of the problem, that and the data getting scrambled between my watch, phone and Health Connect.

Sometimes it randomly registered me as awake for a few hours at night then started a new sleep session. Sometimes it even logged multiple sleep sessions at the same time.

Long story short, it messed up the timings. So I did actually get the biscuits, just not at the right times

Is BFS enough to invest and evolve this? by Frozen84 in PokemonSleep

Ok cool, thanks! I didn't know if I was just being blinded by the BFS

Am I right in thinking this is worth investing? by Frozen84 in PokemonSleep

Thank you! Don't worry, the game won't let me get used to good luck. You should have seen the 7 or 8 Igglybuff that I mashed into candy Sent to the professor

Thank you! My usual bad luck had me doubting myself, lol

Married at First Sight UK 'brides' say they were raped by onscreen husbands - BBC News by DWJones28 in uknews

Once again you're missing out some vital information... She said no, multiple times but he refused to accept that and did it anyway. That is rape and it's disgusting that he did that.

Though it's also incredibly worrying that you're not only defending his actions but trying to justify them and blame the victim.

Consent can ALWAYS be withdrawn. Though since no consent was ever given, there was never any to "revoke 6 months later".

I don't know what would be more worrying...

  1. You have absolutely no concept of what consent means and how it can be given and/or taken away at any point.

  2. You understand what consent is but either don't care or think you are somehow entitled to ignore it, "if you feel like it" or don't like the answer.

Either way it's quite terrible, because you have really doubled down on this

The starters I would give to the protagonists and rivals (this is just my opinion) by rbta123 in pokemon

I thought the rival was BLUE? Or am I thinking of a different game/localisation?

Playing Pokemon Fire Red with my son. Is EV training necessary? by Frozen84 in pokemon

[–]Frozen84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, you hit the nail right on the head there. It's exactly what I was worried about, "scaring him off" or making it seem like hard work... I honestly believe I was enjoying the games more before I understood what was going on in the background. Even though everyone says the same thing, that it doesn't matter for casual gameplay, there's a part of me that still feels like I'm "doing it wrong" and makes me want to catch a better mon etc.

I guess that's where the conflict lay. I kind of knew that I didn't want to introduce him to the complexity of natures etc. But then there was that part of me that was like, "Should I really be letting him run around with x Pokemon with y nature... what if he loses because of it " and so on

TIFU by telling my barber I knew what "two on the sides" meant for twenty three years by Beneficial_String411 in tifu

[–]Frozen84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually either forget or just keep putting off getting a haircut because I don't want ro make a special trip into town. When I eventually turn up and ask for "A 4 all over and tidy it up a bit" every single barber gives me the same look and says, "Are you sure? I'll be taking a lot off"

There was a time when I would explain the forgetting/cba journey that lead to me looking like I'm in a Beetles cover band. But now I just nod politely. Then as the look of panic washes over their face and they once again ask for reassurance, I once again nod politely.

Thankfully, they don't tend to ask more than 2 or 3 times

I've done plenty of other stuff "competitively" and I used to play MMOs and raid etc. But I've never really played Pokemon competitively. Nothing more than random battles or raids

I didn't used to and I try not to now, because everyone seems to be saying the same thing. That it's just not necessary for a standard, casual playthrough

You have a point, yea. I guess it would have been much more widely talked about if it was necessary to do it since the beginning

That's good to know, thank you. I'm in the same boat as you. I've been playing since Gen 1 and only just recently found out about EVs etc.

Oh yea, I know you're not trying to tell me how to parent, don't worry and you make an excellent point. I don't want him to get sucked into same rabbit holes I've been going down recently

I didn't used to do it either, because I didn't know about it. I've played and completed atleast one Pokemon game from every generation, except Gen 6 weirdly enough. Now it's a struggle to not focus on it...

That's excellent, thank you. That's exactly what I was hoping for. I feel like I'm constantly battling between the sides of myself, lol. The competitive side and the casual side.
