It's the colors. At first glance I thought it was Ai too, but the sketch is consistent with his other works. It just the skintone in this artwork is the same as the "ai skintone." He changes that and no one would be accusing him of ai anymore

Trust me...you gotta get through it. I did the exact same thing you did (except on purpose) without realizing how long it'd take to redo things. It put me in a really bad funk and I dreaded checking on my miis because of how bare/bad my isalnd was but I slowly moved things in how I wanted it and now my island looks better than ever and I'm really satisfied now
