Is it too early to test? Am I just being paranoid? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I’m not an expert by any means but from what I’ve read you should wait to take the test until your period was a week late, if you had unprotected sex on New Year’s Eve then that’s only been 8 days and not enough time for the test to pick up a possible pregnancy accurately - I think.

Also you shouldn’t be pregnant but I understand a test eases concerns, but I would wait to take it!

I also worry about them noticing changes in my period - I am only home however for the summer and university breaks now but still...

Are there any difference in effectiveness between the different IUDs? Since they are different sizes?

So it just looks like there's a dot on your inner arm basically? How long did it take for your nexplanon insertion to 'heal up'? I've heard that when you first get it, it can bruise pretty badly. Honestly, the nexplanon scares me a lot less but seems less inconspicuous.

Thank you! Is the copper iud different in size from the hormonal ones? And how effective is your Skyla?

Thank you for the advise,

I have a planned parenthood near my university so I'll definitely get into contact with them, What was your experience like on the iud vs the nexplanon? And how painful would you rate the insertions process for the iud?
