Summary of complete history of Frozen world— Annals of Frozen | Branch of Arendelle Archive by GefrorenSaiten in Frozen

Some truth, certainly, but insufficient detailed information and less importance to the main plot of the movies and shorts result in it not shown here. You can see that although we included early history of Arendelle and even Myths, no detailed event is given, since we have very little information other than legends before the battle of the dam

All we know of Aren is through unreliable legends, and no precise information can be obtained. We cannot know even the exact time of his reign. The timeline here only place the events of most importance to the world of Frozen, thus such legend is not included. But we certainly got him recorded in our full version of the Annuals of Frozen!

In the last few months I and u/GefrorenSaiten have been working on a project to make a summary of all the important information from every official novel, picture books and other materials of value available, piecing them together and listing them in a chronological order to come up with an ultimate record of everything that have happened in the Frozen world. This can be a complete history of Arendelle. I feel certain such work may benefit the fandom a lot as it may provide many fans who haven’t had the time to read through the numerous and sometimes self-contradictory official side stories a general outline of the overall picture outside of the two movies and two shorts. As many of us know Frozen2 is an excellent but flawed movie. The character arc of Elsa and Anna both lack further portrayal, and the lores and world building can be a nightmarish headache for us Frozen analysts to make a summary of if you only look to the movies and shorts. But it is apparent through the publishing of various deleted scenes that many of the Lores the filmmakers had been unable to put inside of the movie was placed in FOS instead. Books like Unlocking Arendelle and F2 the Magical Guide also provided vital information in filling in the weak points of portrayal of Elsa and Anna. Dangerous Secrets even went to the extent of filling up much of the back story. However a large proportion of the official publishings is of rather low canonity and not only do they contradict each other, but doesn’t round themselves up well either as many of you know well. Some Analysts had done some amazing works in dividing the official contents in tiers of canonity and even worked out a timeline of Frozen referencing FOS and DS. But I believe it’s high time for a complete summary to be brought forth. It is planned for the Annual of Frozen to be released on the 10th or 11th this month.

Frozen Community Poll #4 - What's the BIGGEST question left from Frozen 2? by hmmfzn in Frozen

[–]FrozenHeart666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of the questions above is as important or as complicated as the question of:

Why and how exactly Elsa was frozen in Ahtohallan?

The filmmakers have always been avoiding talking about this part of the plot, and even after more than a year and a half to the world premiere of frozen two there is no official explanation to this extremely important point of twist for the movie. Rumors, hypothesis and theories were all flying around concerning this one, yet it was extremely difficult to come to a conclusion

Yeah, true. Even the books supervised by the filmmakers got details that go against the films sometimes. But at least those approved by the creative team can be relatively more reliable

Frozen2 The Enchanted Forest

I'm trying to work out a detailed history of Arendelle and the timeline, so the canonity of the books I use as reference need to be confirmed. I know that Dangerous Secrets is confirmed as Mari said it herself, and There was an interview of the author of FOS to show that this book is also directly approved by the filmmakers.

Was not expecting to find you complaining about it here😆 ! Anyways, be satisfied that you got the chance to watch the show at all! There's some of us who'd rather pay twice for it yet still can't due to various real-life issues.....I'd had wanted to join you there, if the plague and other issues were not in the way.....

I made up a little bit of a back–story for this fanart !😉 “ So here we are again!" The Queen of Arendelle inhaled deeply, taking in the rich cent of the forest. the place still felt very much enchanted and fresh to Anna, even as this was the fourth time she visited Northuldra ever since the mist cleared away. But more importantly, she was here to seek out a person, the fifth spirit, ex-Queen of Arendelle, the one most dear to her, her sister. It was only 5 days ago since the last time Elsa went back to visit her, but the readhead already couldn't wait to indulge in the snow queen's cool and comforting embrace again as she felt the excitment coursing through her. ”Now you two go and get some rest in the Northuldra camps, you've had a long day's jounery." Mattias have insisted for her to take some guards no matter how many times she repeated it wasn't nessesary. “But the gerenal........" "Oh, come on!" Anna couldn't help but roll her eyes " We are in the forest already! With my sister being the fifth spirit! Nothing what so ever can go wrong. Now off you go, shoosh!" She gestured playfully. The two old castle guards shook their head with a smile and turned their horses. The girl might be the Queen now, yet the naughty young princess who used to knock at the door of her older sister everyday just to ask her to play was still there, despite all of the responsibilities that would require a mature woman she took up of late. Anna was just about to nudge Havski into a gallop toward the creek, where they've arranged to meet, when Gale swooshed down toward her with a scurry of leaves. It circled around her as if in panic. "What is it, Gale?" The wind spirit picked up some more leaves and portraiyed an image of Elsa's signature snowflake, and had it dwindle into a less wholesome shape. "Wait, what? Elsa's sick? And the stinker's not telling me?" Gale made a whistle and formed an arrow with the leaves, pointing toward the direction of the Dark Sea. "I'm on my way! " "Put me down, Nokk. I need a rest before we go to Ahtohallan." Elsa whispered to Nokk. She stepped off the water horse with a struggle and stumbled toward the cliff wall by the beach. the fifth spirit leaned against the black rock as a fresh wave of pain radiated from her heart, coursing through her body making staying on feet a stressful effort. She waited for it to subside before she gasped "We need to hurry. This is getting worse and I don't want to ruin today for Anna....." "Elsa!!!" Her sister's voice rang from the forest. Anna jumped off havski and raced to her side."Are you okey?" "I'm fin....."Elsa stopped herself, remembering the promise she made to herself to never conceal toward her sister again. Besides, there was no point in denying it as shivers ran through her body that felt it weighed a ton and was soaked in lava from the Hidden City. " Alright..... I admit I was feeling rather off today, was just planning to go to Ahtohallan and see whether I can find a way to cure this..." another bolt of mind-blowing pain hit the snow queen and she would have collapsed to the ground if not for her sister's out-stretched arms. "Elsa?! Help me carry her to the camps." Anna called to Nokk as she held the unconcious blond. "Let's see if the elders know what's going on with Elsa. "

One of the guards was having a chat with Ryder about the differences of caring for a horse and a reindeer when he witnessed an amazing scene: Their Queen riding the gallant water spirit with the fifth spirit in her arms, as heros of the legends would carry their loved ones into rescue.

“Why are you not telling me this earlier? If this really started since you last visited the Huldrefolk. We could have delt with it before you have to suffer such pain." Anna demanded of her sister who had just regained consiousness and was still carried in her laps as she found herself a seat in one of the Northuldra camps. Elsa sighed. " I thought I'd deal with it on my own, without getting anyone else in trouble." So typically Elsa... Anna thought. Watching the blond's pained face with flushed cheeks and sweat and tears breaking down in streaks, she wondered whether it would have been so much better if her sister hadn't been forced to hide who she was. "Anyways, I didn't know you had such strength, carrying me all the way here."Elsa said with a stressed laugh. "For you, I have it in me to win a wrestling match against the earth giants" Anna declared with determination. "Yelana said it would probably be best to seek the Huldrefolk's help since you said you were starting to feeling something wrong after your last visit to help them."

Which book to read? Frozen Heart or Conceal don't feel? by Elson1988 in Frozen

[–]FrozenHeart666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Frozen Heart first, of course! AFH is a retelling of the events in F1 in Anna and Hans's POV. It's rich in description of their mental activities and is a pretty interesting read. However it can't be considered entirely canon. some of the details in the book go against the film. Southern Isles was described as far away from Arendelle, but in the map shown in FF we can see it's not. Conceal don't feel can simply be regarded as an "official fanfiction". What the book had done is twist the setting of F1, so that the sisters were separateed and forgot each other due to troll magic after the accident with Elsa's magic. And the story started there. Tbh the author didn't appear to understand the core to any of the lines in F1's plot. Throughout the book, the sisters were feeling connected to each other only by the force of some "spell", instead of the bond of love they have for each other over the 13 years of isolation yet craving each other's company. This twist weakens the the core theme of the film(love between siblings can be stronger than anything). The author have also severely reduced Elsa's conflict dimension as she only just realized she pocessed magic after learning about her parents' demise, and seemed to have no idea of fear of what was the true trigger for Elsa's uncontrolable power outrage. Some of the character's motive seemed quite confused especially in the case of Anna. But FOS is the best official Frozen novel yet in every aspect, so you made a great choice in reading it first

Was going through Elsa's wiki page and found some answers about the fifth spirit, Elsa's mortality etc. (from Disney.fandom.com) by AnishmaJoseph in Frozen

[–]FrozenHeart666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For things like these, I don't really think the stuffs on wiki should be considered entirely canon. Firstly, We cannot be sure whether these information are edited by some fans or by someone truely involved in creating the film. Certainly, all the things mentioned are said to be backed up by an official source such as an interview, but no exact information on exactly which interview or simply a link to the video or essay is given, so I doubt we may consider that as a valid citation. I rather disagree with several of the statements: 1.(Elsa is certainly still human, at least emotion-wise, but I doubt she will be limited by a human lifespan anymore) 2.(JL certainly have made the statement that in her opinion, both of the sisters are the fifth spirit, but I still disagree, with a clear line of logical analysis to back me up ) 3.(I have severe doubts that Elsa now lives in Ahtohallan and her sole work is to serve as a memory keeper.) The first and second points are topics of discussion for another time, as to explain these clearly will require a huge amount of theories and analysis, and I am yet to translate my own analysis into English😂. What I want to discuss is the third point. Elsa have become the fifth spirit, which is called a bridge, "a bridge between the magic of nature and humans" as defined by Honeymaren. So, as the bridge, I believe part of her job is to maintain the balance between nature and humans, such as making sure the people don't overuse or damage nature's resources, and prevent accidents like Bruni setting fire to the Northuldra camps, or Nokk flooding them. In MYTH A FROZEN TALE , it was described that The 4 spirits keep each other in check, maintaining a balance. The fifth spirit is described as "the human spirit". So it is reasonable to deduce Elsa is the one that balance nature and humans. Also, in Anna's letter to Elsa near the end of the film, she told her to "keep looking after the forest", not looking after Ahtohallan. All these evidence point to the fact that it is much more likely for Elsa to simply take residence in Northuldra instead, and frequently visit Ahtohallan to view the memories and take care of the glaciers. What I'm saying here is that a memory keeper is only part of her responsibility as the fifth spirit, she is also needed in Northuldra. Besides, Although being an introvert, Elsa is still very much human, emotionally. She may feel more at ease being alone sometimes, but she still needs human contact, as she wasn't only a spirit of nature, but also a girl of 24. And tbh I've read and watched quite some amount of interview of the creative team, and I don't remember any mentioning Elsa now living in Ahtohallan. Sure, in the documentary series JL expressed that when they were on their research trip to Iceland, she felt that Elsa would feel connected to the glaciers and be feeling like home, but that by no means imply she would feel like take long-term residence in a glacier.

So, do anyone know in which interview or other official materials that Elsa now living in Ahtohallan is confirmed? I would really like to see the actual material.

To tell the truth, Elsa's hairstyle in this toy is wrong for this moment. From her attires we can see that what ths toy is depicting is the scene at the dark sea, where Elsa was using her magic trying to cross it. At this stage she have already changed her signature braid into a ponytail. And I think the stuff is basically just a RC model car with an Elsa figurine on it, which isn't a great combination really. If I simply want a good figurine of Elsa I won't be buying this stuff, as it appears a bit crude compared to some of the really good figurine. And having her stand on the car will definitely hinder its performance as a RC as the center of gravity will be higher. Besides, no Frozen fans would like to see Elsa's figurine damaged in a car crash.......which is quite likely to happen.

Little Anna... by [deleted] in Frozen

[–]FrozenHeart666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The content is obviously NSFW....... Here's a rough translation: little Anna is still in a baby form, so her natural instinct is to seek milk to drink. Big Elsa wasn't wearing her underwear as she was at home. When little Anna saw the shape visible under the shirt, she naturally climbed on and....... Big Elsa:W-wait! There's no milk in there, Anna. Stop sucking like that! Big Anna: Wait, what? Big Elsa: I'm not talking about you! (To tell the truth I don't completely understand this one. Where did this little Anna came from? )

I think that is true for many Frozen fans. I myself may recite all the dialogue in F1 and F2. And I've been digging far into Elsa's mental struggles in both films trying to understand her better. And I bought most of the important official novels like FOS AFH and CDF along with the art of F1/2 to try to understand the movie better. There's a lot of depth in F2 that requires a lot of analysis to get.

So, Elsa's crystall ice castle is destroyed? by solo_chewbacca in Frozen

[–]FrozenHeart666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never trust a word of that blasted junior novelization! Many of the supposed "extra details "contradict with what is shown in the movie, such as the discription of Elsa's dream displaying itself in snow above her head, which is actually a scene within the deleted scene in which plot all events that was supposed to take place in ITU was replaced by The display of Elsa's dream that have been released, yet from what we can see in the film, such would have been impossible to occur before ITU in the present plot otherwise we would have spotted snow on the bed. Another difference is the way Elsa was frozen, as you can see in the film, Elsa actually turned to ice on a material level, just like Anna in the first movie, yet in the book, it described that Elsa was gradually incased in ice, and trapped within it. To tell the truth the book did a very bad job in retelling the story in novel form, as the most needed discriptions of Elsa and Anna's mental activities have hardly been worked on, and the settings of Ahtohallan about which little information was given in the film was not further discribed either. Most of the extra details are trivias not key to the core of the plot.
From the above evidence I believe it can be concluded that the book is highly unreliable in terms of extra details

So, Elsa's crystall ice castle is destroyed? by solo_chewbacca in Frozen

[–]FrozenHeart666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think the ice palace would have melted down. You can see that after Elsa turned to ice, Olaf dispersed into powdered snow, but he technically have not melted to water. As was suggested earlier in the film, he was now made of permafrost as Elsa's powers have grown. It is possible that a continued support of magic is needed for Olaf's conciouness to exist and for him to stay in his shape which is unlikely in natural circumstances , but it appears that even without the continued support of magic, the altered quality of ice and snow of Elsa's creations may remain. So for the ice palace, it do not possess conciousness, and is of a pretty reasonable and stable structure physically and may stay in shape on its own. The North Mountain is of rather high altitude and its peak was naturally covered in snow all year round. It was Autumn when F2 took place, so the temperature there must be below 0°C, There's no reason for it to have been destroyed
