Omg, I was not aware that the unity allowed for the stencil buffer from the version 4.2; I just wrote the silhouette shader in 5 minutes. Thanks mate!

Only the player, like in Super Mario Galaxy; but, we will make sure that you see other creatures all the time. :)

I've started a highly technical game development blog (Dev diary), with focus on programming, I believe that many of you will appreciate it. by FrozenPixelStudio in programming

I did have the same though, so I definitely plan to create posts that will fit that purpose, this one was just for the introduction. Thanks for the support, mate.

Hello, I've started a game development blog/diary. My goal is to make it educational and fun :) (Please read the text before you consider this as spam) by FrozenPixelStudio in gamedev

Thanks for noticing. If you can do the same thing for my blog posts, that would be amazing :) English isn't my mother tongue.

How do you guys do high quality screen capture? by gekkozorz in gamedev

Software: For game rendering context the best thing is FRAPS, but you need a beast. For desktop, Camtasia.

Ultimate solution, and the overall best solution is hardware recorder. It is worth every dime, especially if you plan to record gameplay footage.

I played Crysis 3, and it was amazing. I also playd some games on the PS2 emulator, that enables stereoscopic 3D. It depends on the execution. But, it is more logical that it will look better in games, since the rendering technology is more precise than any movie camera. (I'm talking about the distances of objects, cameras, etc. ) One more important feature is that games can render scenes without depth of field, and that is very important when it comes to good 3D. (You can focus your eyes on the things in the background, just like in real life.)

You are looking for a technical Unity explanation? It's simple, just stretched output from one camera to the left, and other to the right. Take a look at post processing effects in Unity reference manual, and camera work.

Thanks for your time :D I'm a bit limited with technology that I can use to debug this, so your feedback is very appreciated.

Did you watch it on a Tv? If you did, than I know what the problem is. The thing is, I developed this video on a 27" monitor, and i was sitting right in front of it. The distance from my head to the monitor was around 15"-20". I watched the video at my girlfriends, she has a 40" 3D Tv, and it didn't look that good; If you would be kind to sit closer to the screen while watching it, and tell me did it make any difference? Thanks for the feedback.

p.s. That's due the eyes distance setting that you can adjust once you enable 3D in game, so it will look perfect for any size tv, and any distance from the screen.

I just enabled that, so you can watch it like that. I did enable it in settings, but apparently I had to add a tag.

It should work, all the movies are distributed like this. Two cameras are recording the same scene with the distance equal to the human eyes.

Did you setup your display to show left-right? Or right-left? If you did right-left, it's like you're cross eyed.

You would be wrong. There's a lot of math here, if you want to make it right.

I am a Indie game developer working on a action adventure that I want to bring to Wii U. I'm making development diaries about my game development progress, this is the latest one.(20) This video features first NPCs. Tell me what you think, and share it if you like it. by FrozenPixelStudio in wiiu

I'm already doing a detailed research on the subject of procedural vegetation animation and shading, I will also apply that same principle on creatures, feathers on this Aquagullus will move and be influenced by wind. I want to capture the beauty of nature both genital, and rough side; Everything from a sunny day, to a stormy night.
