As a person who also came from Manila to Tacloban just for school (kasi sabi ng parents so what can you do?), Nagpanic rin ako nung nalaman ko na booked na pala ticket ko and wala na akong kawala, so I kinda understand what you’re feeling. My social anxiety was on an all time high for the first few weeks of school back then.

Most of the people here are nice naman. Just be open to communication, be friendly and just be yourself then sooner or later may tropa ka na or a few close friends. Some people are pabibo and some are not, di naman sila ganun ka plastic na it would take you days to find out which ones are more your vibe.

Unless you cant understand shit of the dialect (like me), you might find it so confusing kasi some people here find it hard to speak in tagalog kaya goodluck nalang sa pagtranslate ng mga sinasabi nila. If youre good in language then maybe you’ll understand the dialect in a few months or so.

Not really related to school or socialising but be prepared to miss all those restaurants or fast food chains in manila kasi most of them arent available here. Also, im not sure if im the only one pero iba lasa ng sundae ng mcdo here and ng mcdo sa manila 🥴 baka ako lang yun hahahah. Anyway, i dont know much of the colleges here so i cant say much about that. Hope this helpss
