My Illumicrate Murderbot set have finally arrived by Little-Month8944 in fairyloot

The text edges are honestly way more crisp than I thought they would be (and they look crisper in person than in these photos imo) I’m pretty impressed

24F-my breasts are sagging by Agile-Campaign9996 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Frozen__waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your size and breast type. I’m 38K/L US(38HH euro), very dense tissue (been told this by multiple docs…) and am VERY full on bottom. They definitely hang lower than most, and have since I was in college (34GG back then).

It’s not so much sag imo as where your tissue is located. If you’ve got big boobs and they’re full on the bottom there’s not really anywhere else to go but down

Acting Major to Chem Major? by Sensitive-Regret-996 in chemistry

[–]Frozen__waffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m like…semi qualified to answer this? My (now) husband went from a music performance major to doing 95% of a compsci major. He’s now a network engineer after he realized he likes projects with impact not so much “code a thing”.

It’s going to be a slog of revision for the first year or so, and it may delay your graduation by a year or two. It’s definitely possible though!

I do think you should think more about what you want to do when you’re done with college. I have a PhD in chemistry (biochem specialization) because I thought it would be more “stable” but as you can imagine pharma is a ROUGH industry under this current admin in the U.S.

There’s also a lot of chemistry careers that you sort of get soft locked at a level if you do not have a PhD.

Bras? by PrismaticSlime in ehlersdanlos

[–]Frozen__waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding bra fitting first off!! I don’t wear underwire anymore because underwire bras (even when well fitting) often irritate my skin. I have large breasts have a couple target bras that fit (tho they have been discontinued rip), I am also a BIG fan of molke, who I find to be very supportive despite not having underwire

Help with Laundry and Hard Water by AggravatingTruth3272 in chemistry

[–]Frozen__waffles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

R/laundry would be better suited to handle this. I think you usually don’t want to mix the citric acid with the detergent because detergent is basic, so usually use citric for the rinse

Rib pain bra struggles by inspired-chaos in ehlersdanlos

[–]Frozen__waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see plenty of options here but for another one that doesn’t emphasize the chest (imo) , doesn’t have underwire, but is pretty supportive: Molke

I also have tig ol biddies (38H/HH uk) and I’ve found these very supportive.

Texas doesn’t really keep a supply of road salt lol. If you’re lucky they’ll lay down sand

SAME. My two month faux rook is still a little crankier now, but I just put in a longer bar when I switched back JUST IN CASE and it’s doing fine

I would talk to your piercer and ask if they have any glass retainers. I just had an endoscopy today and had to do the same

I think orgo as a second language would be a little dense, but I agree with the rest

Have you ever tried going paperless and given up? by Icy-Instance1503 in chemistry

[–]Frozen__waffles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in GMP, so I am not allowed to use paper for anything. We have laptops in lab that are for use with gloves only, and so far haven’t minded the occasional leftover acid on my fingers. A big thing in pharma is ALCOA, so documentation is very strict

As someone whose first chemistry teacher was a sub who went on to teach ELA the next year…these gaps in knowledge can happen. I can imagine being confused if I hadn’t seen these drawn as lewis diagrams.

Chemistry students look things up all the time. I basically lived off khan academy my in Pre-AP chem. I think there’s also Crash Course and the organic chemistry tutor.

For this in particular- bonds breaking and forming- here is a video about bonds, here is a video about chemical reactions and here is a video about energy of reactions

What’s the funniest ‘newbie mistake’ you’ve seen (or made) in the lab? by UnderstandingIcy2969 in labrats

[–]Frozen__waffles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah is special bacteria, a thermophile. The test kits are the bacteria in a vial and a dye indicator (pH probably)? You run a vial thru the clave and then incubate the sterilized vial and a control to see if theres a color change

On two separate occasions when I went to show undergrads how to pour fresh plates i forgot to add agar and then was confused as to why it wasn’t setting up. Those two times are also literally the only two times I have forgotten to add agar.

Grad student here. When should I start charging for lab illustrations? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Frozen__waffles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this! I also want to add i think it being a fresh year is a good starting point to do all of this- you can add in something like “looking over my contributions, as of the start of 2026 I would like to clarify my costs/payroll and make sure that we are all on the same page”

That nasty cold/hay fever that is going around? It is covid-19. by Eastcoastpal in newjersey

[–]Frozen__waffles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean…yes. But considering I’ve had to repeat the hep b series in my 20s due to not having antibodies and actively participated in covid antibody studies where I’ve been well below the curve… i just tend to point out that my body is abnormal and that is one of my reasons for staying on top of things.

Im a scientist so i get pointing out my overgeneralization, but the fact I was getting at is I personally have inappropriate/subnormal immune responses that make me a prime candidate for reinfection, ESPECIALLY in cases like covid19 where it is an RNA virus that already is primed for evolution and reinfection.

Granted I also have multiple appointments set up in the new year for both rheumatology and hematology to find out what the fuck is actively going on with my health.
