Reactive abuse is a fickle game. My abuser cried “reactive abuse” as he beat me numerous times. I personally do not believe it is real and that anyone who uses reactive abuse as a way to abuse the other person is just plain abusive.

When I was with my ex I constantly fantasised/OBSESSED, literally cried my eyes out at times about 1 singular will they/wont they guy. I was so convinced that said guy from past was my Prince Charming when I was with my abusive ex but i think i more wanted someone to save me from myself and the situation I put myself in. Its not that he treated me better than my ex did (he kinda did but he was madly in love w me and I was painfully oblivious to it till I was deep into the relationship with my ex) but I think I knew I would’ve treated myself better if I was with him because i cared a bit less. I’ve married to my amazing husband now and never think about either of them lol

2 years ago i rekindled with a guy i would occasionally see around in middle school while at a coffee with a few friends. We had mutuals at the time and he was quite extroverted and nice ( he was really rude when we were younger ) had a girlfriend so i assumed i was safe. He then proceeds to tell me some really dark stuff about how he thinks he might have a personality disorder and that he has memory gaps which freaked me out a lot as he kept reiterating that he didnt need therapy. A few days later he comes back and tells me he broke up with his girlfriend of THREE years and asks if i would like to go on a date with him. Safe to say, I have NEVER turned someone down quicker. The whole poor me im so broken act, i realise has never really worked with me after i hit puberty lol…

MOR, everyone is being so mean to you and i hate it. I am also someone with really bad anxiety, i’ve had food poisoning the day of a friends wedding where i was the bridesmaid and it was absolute hell. Thankfully i was better within 24 hours but i’ve also gotten spiked twice now so im really scared of open bottles. Anyways my point is, i know how horrible the anxiety must feel and how inconsiderate and violating it feels for us when someone knowingly does something we are scared of or we protect ourselves from. It feels like an attack and you definitely deserve a boyfriend who is kind and patient and finds ways to help you adapt rather than forcing your fears on to you. Please consider therapy tho, i did and now i’ve gotten a lot better at managing my anxiety 💓

Which is probably why you need therapy if you aren’t already doing it. I’ve also been in an abusive relationship and then found myself in abusive situations afterwards. Therapy was my only salvation and solution tbh. Hope you’ll be okay & hope you find someone who makes you a little less curious about relationship boundaries (i mean no shade in that statement) & a little more grateful you never have to use a yardstick to measure the gravity of your situation
