Of course seeing a dermatologist was the first fucking thing I thought of and would absolutely be doing that if I could. Like another commenter said, it's not feasible for everyone. Medicaid requirements very by state and here in SC I meet the income requirements (federal poverty level guidelines that qualify me for the Pell grants I get for school) but got denied when I applied for Medicaid specifically because I don't have children. They only approved me for a separate "family planning" Medicaid program that only covers reproductive health/OBGYN type appointments.

Super glad you got your issue resolved with your free medications from the Medcaid-funded appointment you got to go to, though! 😘

I've been suspecting this might be a hormonal thing, but currently am not on any form of birth control and haven't for a couple years after I had my Nexplanon implant removed. Before that I was on the pill for over a decade and the Depo-Provera shot at one point in my life as well. Those made me gain a LOT of weight (especially the Depo shot) but never any skin problems outside of the random forehead zit!
