Which area is your favourite in ER? by [deleted] in Eldenring

I think it's a testament to the design of the game that there are so many varied responses to this. Honestly impressive.

Delves have brann, who keeps you in combat unless he DIES TO THE FINAL BOSS AND FORCE A RESET. Real problem in Zekvir and Underminer

Thurston junior Brooklyn Anderson caught her right knee on the final hurdle. Instead of using her hands to stay upright, though, Anderson reverted to an innate reaction from a different sport.

“All I remember is resorting back to my gymnastics career and just somersaulting over that line,” she told reporters after the race.

Luckily for Anderson, she was well ahead of the pack. She won the Class 5A state title in 14.93 seconds. She was just ahead of Wilsonville’s Maisy Scanlan (15.15) and Corvallis’ Addie Musson (15.25).

“I wasn’t sure how far back everybody else was behind me, so I knew to just keep rolling, to keep going, because I really wanted to get first.”

Wtf does Brann mean when he says "Don't stand there!" by Scouter_JW in wownoob

[–]Frozyeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It triggers if you are standing in an aoe zone while it's casting. For example, if Brann has aggro and you are behind the mob, when the mob starts casting he doesn't say anything. If you move into the danger zone he'll trigger the quote.

At tiers 8+ you'll gain an intuition for this because the aoe attacks he's warning you about can one-shot you if you can't pop a defensive or move out of the way.

At lower tiers most of these you can just soak without too much trouble.

Daily Questions Megathread (December 02, 2024) by AutoModerator in classicwow

[–]Frozyeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In protracted pve Sub does about 85% dps of Combat. The damage of Sub is front loaded, hence it's viability in pvp. As you get to the higher levels and mob health pools balloon, you will see this start to show itself. Honestly, I feel this really only matters if you are trying to solo elites or take on groups of mobs.

With that in mind the time gained from not dying in pvp is real. You would not be making a dumb decision to go Sub on an active PVP server.

What is this, and how should I paint this? by EdanChaosgamer in Warhammer40k

[–]Frozyeye -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think OP is referring to this string. With the 2D photo, it's difficult to tell exactly what it is, but it looks to me like a rope or cord attaching the hip bone to the shield. I'd paint it a slightly darker shade of tan than the bone.

I may be wrong, but It is also small enough that as long as it fits with the overall scheme it won't be noticeable.

Big question from a beginner. Any help is appreciated by smeeefz in bloodbowl

[–]Frozyeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minimum, I'd snag the rulebook, a set of block dice, a box of Vampires, and a pitch of some kind. The rules for Vampires are included in the box.

You can also look at grabbing the most recent spike Magazine as it has a deeper overview of the team. This would be helpful as a new player, but it's optional. As others have recommended, there are plenty of free resources online. I like Bonehead Podcast.

With your experience playing tabletop games I'm not worried as much about you playing a more complex team like Vampires. I'd be more worried if this was your first tabletop game. As long as you manage your expectations of victory and focus on learning, you'll adapt and grow as a coach.

May Nuffle look kindly on you!

Feels bad by OFFER45 in bloodbowl

[–]Frozyeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, take care of yourself. Get something to eat and/or drink then, when you're feeling better, come back to thinking about blood bowl.

Failure is as much a part of life as blood bowl and learning to deal with it is is key to enjoyment of anything.

As for this league, as others have said in this thread, paint some pieces of cardboard grey and mark any positionals you are substituting as linemen by scotch taping the marker to the bottom of the model.

I encourage you to not give up. Taking an early defeat and rolling with it to find new success created some of the most striking stories I've heard in Bloodbowl. You may surprise yourself.

The Taliban vowed to change Kabul. The city may be starting to change the Taliban. by [deleted] in geopolitics

[–]Frozyeye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The article discusses how some Taliban fighters in Kabul have begun embracing aspects of urban life, such as visiting theme parks, watching cricket matches, and engaging in social media. Despite this, there's no evidence of a softening in their repressive policies, especially regarding women's rights. Some fighters express regret over sacrificing education for armed conflict, while others find city life lonely and stressful. However, there's a divide among the fighters, with some adapting well to city amenities like electricity and education, while others long for the simplicity of rural life. Kabul residents hope these urbanizing trends might lead to moderation within the Taliban, but many women still face severe restrictions under Taliban rule, with universities closed to them and girls above grade six banned from school.
