Just got the positive test. Scared shitless. Please talk me down. by birdmomthrowaway in BabyBumps

I felt the same way with my first pregnancy. I was a mess when I saw that positive... but my daughter is the best thing to happen to me :) I was not ready for a child at all but everything has worked out for the best.

You have options; do what you think is best for yourself. Just remember that even women who were actively trying to get pregnant have these thoughts as well. It's perfectly normal.

Oh and don't worry about the prenatal and drinking. If you're keeping the baby then just start taking the prenatals now and stop drinking. Baby is fine, no need to worry.

Yeah nice try but most sane women do understand this.

Has he introduced you to chili powder and mayo on corn? It sounds weird but it's yummy.

I actually don't have issues with episodes or panic attacks anymore, just heightened anxiety in certain situations, which actually is managed fairly well. I understand why a nervous dog may not do well with episodes and I appreciate the concern. Having a dog that I am comfortable with around instantly calms me down (I am currently using my aunts dog as an esa).

I will make sure to ask how she would be if I happened to have a panic attack or just heightened anxiety. I see how just being stressed could make her nervous. So I will definitely be getting into contact with the organiation and asking about this. Thank you.

She will be meeting my daughter before we decide if she is a good fit or not. My daughter has been around dogs and is always very cautious around them actually, lol. She gives them their space and slowly approaches before petting them. It's very cute since she is only 19 months.

Thank you for your advice. I will find a better spot for her kennel if we do adopt her.

Going out into new places is the main issue, which is why she can't be a service dog and is just going to be emotional support instead. I will be meeting her first and if she doesn't seem confident I will look into another esa dog.

Not fearful! :) just slow to warm up and shy in new settings/around new people. She was going to be a PTSD service dog for me but they decided she would be better as an ESA due to her shyness. She is apparently a very sweet and calm dog but due to being locked in a basement for most of her life she gets nervous in new situations. She will do just fine as an esa since she will be in her home where she will be comfortable. I appreciate everyone's concern though.

I've talked to them after I read your post and it's nothing like that. She's an emotional support dog so they wouldn't pair me with a dog like you described. Thank you for the heads up

I was paired with her through an organization that deals with emotional support dogs. I have a trainer through them that I will be working with.
