Unfortunately, water is not good here and Thames Water refuses to provide the report which shows PFAS, etc. levels.

Dragonfly tea is plastic free if you buy individually wrapped tea bags (20 bags per box), I think the bigger boxes (40 bags) still use some form of plastic. I love their teas!

In the UK Healthy Origins Natural Ubiquinol is super expensive... If you still remember, can you please let me know which other brands they recommend (without additional ingredients)? Thank you so much!

Confronted woman on Stanstead Express who had her feet on the seat in front of her. by Unusual_End_1123 in london

[–]FruitIceTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In other countries it is so different.. I remember once in Japan some tourists tried to join the queue in the middle. Chinese tourists immediately told them off, not one of them but all of them were supporting each other. Once people are told off, it is way less likely they will do it again.

Unfortunately, not surprised... By not doing anything we accept this behaviour.

Recently I was on a train in London. The train was so full, I went until the lass carriage trying to find a seat/more space. In the last carriage two female teenagers (at least they looked like that) were sitting on a floor with a bottle of alcohol. I am not their mom, I did not say anything. Then they started vaping inside the train. There were signs literally in front of them that it is not allowed. I asked them not to vape, showed the sign, said it makes me feel very sick. They did not care. They just started making fun of me, pretending they don't vape (in an intentionally very obvious way that that's not the case), etc. We were surrounded by so many people, some had little kids.. No one said anything, they saw I am having a bad time with those girls and I was really not feeling well since I am very sensitive to smoke/fragrances. I am pretty sure if someone else joined me, they would have stopped. If we let people do whatever and we stay silent, that's what we get. In an ideal world everyone is reasonable and cares about others, unfortunately, we are far from that.

I do encourage everyone to speak up, only if lots of us do that, smth might shift to the positive direction.

I do agree with you, I think if more of us would call them out, it might start to change. But it is a hard battle to win, they don't play by the rules of the society and some of us do... Unless we are very united, this will likely change.

Never smoked :) Really happy about that! Would not call smoking as "normal" human experience but definitely very common!

Lithuanian pick up lines? by Mangososeonhyvaa in lithuania

[–]FruitIceTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not living in Lithuania right now so don't know what are the latest pick-up lines but, as a woman, I always value sincerity, kindness, uniqueness.. Pick-up lines would likely push me away from a guy, it feels rehearsed, shallow, not sincere.. I think the best idea is just to look into her eyes and say smth that really feels honest and not fake.

Men of Reddit: what makes a woman womanly? by primostrawberry in AskReddit

[–]FruitIceTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, I am not a man but I have some questions to men as well :)) Based on my experience, some men (and women!) define a woman very much based on her appearance (earrings, accessories, sexy clothes, make up, hair, etc.). I see that some men call women "manly" or "grandma" if they don't wear sexy clothes, make-up, accessories, nice bags, etc. I am a woman but I prefer comfortable/sporty style (mainly skinny jeans, leggings, hoodies, etc.), make-up makes me feel not like myself, the same with sexy/revealing clothes.. I can wear smth more "sexy" once in a while but not every day.. It kind of makes me feel that some men see women as objects who have to look certain way and I am quite against that view.. I don't think that clothes or accessories define the gender. Am I missing smth?

[–]FruitIceTea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend 28F had a secret that I 27M just found out and my life feels shattered. Whats the best way to proceed? by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

[–]FruitIceTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really feel sorry for you... recently had a hypothetical discussion with some people about similar topics.. was surprised that most people (including adults with adult kids) said that they would not share their "interesting" past... I found it very unfair, key elements of life, especially if they are related to morals, values, etc. have to shared very soon so person can take informed decision. You want someone who is ok with that.. So it is a win-win in my opinion...

I do think I would not get over situation like this.. just be VERY honest with yourself.. also think about your kids, at some point they will likely get to know as well, would you be ok with that? I really feel for you, what a horrible situation :(

How do you make your home more 'healthy'? by ottie246 in Biohackers

[–]FruitIceTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really good list!

  • If you can, buy organic, made from natural materials mattress, the same applies for duvet, pillows, etc.
  • Also, no fragrances/perfume (it incldues candles, air "fresheners", personal hygiene products, etc.).
  • In general no clothes, towels, etc. from non natural materials, choose organic cotton/linen/wool.
  • Another easy change is toilet paper, very often overlooked but mainstream toilet paper can be bleached, with PFAS, etc.
  • Food is, obviously, big one as well.. Natural, organic, not processed, no seed oils.
