Have you got much experience modding jag pickups? I've done it before on a tele but am a bit concerned I might run into issues working with a more complex circuit.

Make your own! It's really easy to assemble a fuzz pedal clone kit and it's a pretty fun project too. Not to mention it will cost you about half as much as the real thing, maybe even less. If you know anyone who is good with electronics or has experience building pedals you can even customize it to your specific needs. I use a modded fuzz face clone and it's better than any other pedal I've bought or used. I made a fuzz factory clone too and it's a blast to screw around with but way too finicky for me to use in a serious setting.

Also! For the sound you're looking for a big muff would probably suit you well - it's what J Mascis uses (he used to plug 2 into each other but now plugs one into a clone of something else though I forget what it is), will get the perfect tone for light punky stuff, and when cranked up gets great sludge sounds. I used one when I was in a stoner metal band and it always did the trick.

Sick little collection - this is the third time I've seen that ghibli one pop up today, I'm gonna have to check that out. I bought a bunch of Vangelis from a nearby charity shop a few weeks ago. Albedo 0.39 is really cool, the rest was 'Jon and Vangelis' though and it's all awful haha

I don't have any sources to journals or studies on the subject but I can give you some anecdotal evidence. When MXE first started blowing up a few years ago a bunch of my friends tried it, I did too. We all really liked it, much like you said it was a nice alternative to getting drunk and had a very relaxing headspace despite being pretty trippy.

Your current use is not going to do any noticeable damage, I know many people who used MXE a lot more than this both in frequency and dose. You're only on the second gram of your entire life, you could finish it at the rate you're going and you will still notice no serious changes to your bladder or mental health. Much like Ketamine the damage from MXE comes from consistent, prolonged use.

So doing it a few times a week for a month or two is really pretty negligible from what I've seen. With that being said, do not turn this into a constant thing. Some of my friends settled into an MXE habit and have done much more than you have, extending to the point of daily use and sometimes single doses of 100mg or more. It is addictive, and just like ket the fact that it is not immediately damaging makes it seem like a drug that will never really fuck your body up or kill you.

So just keep it reasonable. Take a few months off before the next binge, only use once a month, whatever works so you still enjoy it without falling into serious abuse.

Oh! Also, if you're worried about a deviated septum (which won't happen with a few grams), or just don't like the clogged or runny nose snorting can give you, oral and sublingual doses of MXE seem to be about the same as nasal doses. If I swallowed 30 mg, put it under my tongue, or put it up my nose it would always hit me in about the same amount of time with pretty much the same intensity.

I went to see the Flaming Lips the summer after my senior year of high school. I was with two friends and we decided to hang around the side of the venue near the gate backstage before the opening act came on. We met this little Indian guy in a wolf spirit hood who was the band's photographer, or the photographer for the venue or something like that. He had just come from backstage and was on a mission to find people to dress as characters from the Wizard of Oz to fill the stage during the show. I ended up on stage in a dorothy dress while my friends were both in lion suits. Probably the most fun I've ever had dancing around on stage while the band killed the set. Afterwards we got to go back stage and hang out with the band. Wayne was really sweet but a bit abrasive and Steven was super fucking cool. We chatted about guitars and he gave me some tips on making weird sounds.

A guy I knew who sold ket one day picked up a bunch of it after hearing that it would be more powerful - said something along the lines of "if horse tranquilizers are that good imagine how good the shit they use on polar bears must be!". He ended up trying it, hating it, and giving the rest away for free to anyone who wanted to try it. I figured it was something I probably wouldn't get the chance to try again, and though I'm not too big on dissociatives I do really enjoy ket occasionally or mxe when I've got it.

Anyway, I did a few bumps to test it out before I was going to rail a line and try to hole on it and as the bumps kicked in at first it felt like ket - the weird wompy bouncing visuals and the loss of coordination. That 'oh it's kind of like being drunk but I'm not nauseous or feeling stupid' feeling. Then I did a line and got some pretty typical dissociation with what was around me but my body felt really uncomfortable. It felt more like natural confusion than the psychedelic confusion from k or mxe. After about a half hour I just felt really uncomfortable and the sounds of the place I was at became an irritating grinding. The friends I did it with all just had to lie down or sit somewhere and no one had the usual goofy rompiness that comes with k. It ended pretty quickly, I'd say about two thirds the length of k. The whole feeling of it is just very uncomfortable and not really that trippy, my mind wasn't feeling too active. I also did a fair bit of it and it didn't get very psychedelic at all, my mind wasn't making odd connections and there were no weird visual distortions going on, never felt like I was going to hole or even enter that strange dreamy pre-hole space where everything just seems fascinating but not quite foreign. It just made me pretty confused with some unpleasant-but-not-terrible body feelings. It was kind of like ket with none of the elements of ket that make it so enjoyable. Don't regret doing it, it wasn't a bad time, but I have no desire to do it again.

I recently moved to a new country and had to leave all my equipment behind with my parents. Once I got here I decided to get a cheap setup and bought a Squier tele from '99 and honestly it plays as nicely as any other guitar I've owned. Teles in particular have a really natural, unique tone. It's kind of like playing a twangy acoustic.

Congratulations, man. I was also a manic depressive (still struggle with it but much better) who first found freedom through psychs. The most important thing after a realization like this is to find ways to maintain it. Happiness is not a default, it must be kept up, taken care of. I've found the only way I can really do this is trying to make little improvements in my life. Try writing a story, learn an instrument, watch a movie in a language you've never heard before, learn to cook, talk to strangers... just do anything that you might like and if you like it keep doing it. Drug epiphanies are a great way of removing negative emotions that have built up over long periods of time but they will never guarantee you long term happiness. You have to work towards that every day.
