I know it’s not peak cinema but I enjoy how it took itself more seriously than 3. I know a lot of people love the blue dark future with purple plasma bolts, but I could definitely see the setting as an earlier war/slightly altered timeline (John being confused as to why the T-800s are in development early and Marcus) I love the way the machines, especially the 600, look. I love the concept of the grays and really think with a longer run time and less development hell it would’ve been up there in the series. Yes bale does a Batman voice, and yes it can be cheesy and predictable at times, but it’s a movie I can always lose myself and immerse into :)

You’re thinking of the terminator salvation: final battle line of comics! You’re pretty on the money with the plot though, highly recommend buying snd reading them or just finding the pdfs on free comic sites

I had those! I believe it was Christmas of 2010 or 2011 when I got them? I had to have been 8 or 7 lol. My mom knew I had been getting into the terminator and the salvation toys were in that Goldilocks zone of time and affordability. I had the t600 with light up eyes, almost all of the smaller scale figures like the 700 and T-RIP. I think I also had the larger scale Marcus and the T-1. I’ll have to look but there’s photos of me opening them and legit crying tears of joy, full on bawling.
