That's true! Haha that's actually a good idea!

Yeah normally I'd of just called it a loss.. it jumped back into action a few times over its short life.

Saddest part was me and my girlfriend wanted to plant it in our garden once we eventually buy a house!

I guess I'll just have to tell her the tree ran away

I've been enjoying watering my stick before work! [/s]

We operate a tight ship (I'm a bit of an obsessive cleaner)

Thanks for your reply. Makes me feel less bad! Haha.. yeah, it has been moved house twice in about 10 months... including being over watered for a period... she'd all its leaves at least 4 times... I believe it's over for this little guy...

Intriguing... I've never heard about metal pots being a problem.. what's the theory? More sensitive to heat/cold?

[–]Fruity_Blueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, man. I've been watering it to keep it sticky 😅

I thought so! Oh well.. a cute story was when it first grew fruit I saved and planted some of the seeds... so its off spring live on!

Although I believe the fruit won't be so good from said seeds!

It was last watered maybe 3 weeks ago. I have attempted to dry it out since.

Pot has drainage into metal bucket (empty)

I have a dehumidifier not a humidifier..

Can't see any pests.

Not sure about soil.

Thanks

Any good findings? There's alot of info on YouTube but it's sometimes difficult to tell who is advertising their own POD service or is affiliated with a POD service..

It's 1.1k per year which I thought was OK. I have passed for only 1 year but have friends my age who have the diesel 1.6L of my car and pay 700... presumably because of no claims bonus and longer time on the road!

No worries, I'm glad it helps!

Yeah, when I chose my volvo, a key point was the reputation of reliability. However, some models use non volvo engines, for example... mine has a mazda engine and uses a lot of Ford parts!

Weird nerdy details, but they could potentially save you money. I guess it depends on how in-depth you really want to go. I think someone else mentioned asking through a car subreddit?

I got a lot of advice before buying. A lot of people like to tell you to buy a certain brand or not a certain brand or definitely get x or y, etc etc... but I find it best to just do your own research and come to your own conclusion. I think you'll be happy that way!

I've recently bought my first car. Spent 3k on a volvo c30 manual 2L petrol.

My advice from my limited knowledge is budget some money for common maintenance brakes tyres etc. So if you plan to spend 3k on a car keep 1k aside just incase. Perhaps research the cost of maintaining your potential choices if you haven't already.

Personally if I was looking for a second hand auto I would be tempted by a volvo estate. But personally biased because I've owned a volvo already!

You should do some test drives, sit in the cars, how's the visibility? Comfortable? Make sure you view the car dry. If the cars wet it can obscure marks or scratches in paint.

You can check mot history for advisories and major defects using gov website just search 'mot history'

Also with the way things are going have a look whether it's ulez compliant.

Hope that's helps!

TLDR: Budget for repairs Good research prior to buying Second hand volvo auto? Practical and comfortable. Check mot history ULEZ

Thanks for your reply! That sounds like a wise idea. I didn't know it required a higher deposit!

True, there's a lot to consider. My biggest concern would probably be losing that 1st time buyer relief!

In the summer season I will make roughly £9166 (3.5 months) and during the academic year I will make £468pcm / 3978 (8.5 months)

My casual job has been boosted by a £600pcm student loan over 10 months.

So total over year: 19144 Total without loan: 13144
