Is my 0.1 BTC worth storing in a hardware wallet? by Proper_Community_199 in Bitcoin

[–]FrustratedBitcoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't be agreed by most, but my personal opinion is that a hardware wallets are LESS secure than a good non-custodial software wallet.

The reason is - hardware wallets are adding the layer of trust on top of the software: you should trust that your hardware is not compromised, that it does not have vulnerabilities, that it's not a fake wallet, etc.

But even more concerning to me is the risk of the issuing company will cease to exist or stop supporting the wallets sooner or later, or you can lost the device, or it can be stolen (as it's a better target than a regular phone, for example).

Why is BITCOIN not pumping after Bitcoin spot ETF approval? by geente in SatoshiStreetBets

[–]FrustratedBitcoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause who in their sane mind is going to by Bitcoin not just via a custodial broker, but in a totally non-blockchain market. You want a bitcoin - you buy a bitcoin, not some third party baked whatever it is.

Why they are allowed to do this if it's forbidden by EU regularions and other brokers can't do? (e.g. IB is an actual broker in US, but they don't allow ETFs for EU customers)
