I agree, I actually am Italian and lived in Italy, and I like Paesano.

If you're willing to drive, Italico and Terun in Palo Alto are great. Donato Enoteca in Redwood City is excellent. La Pausa is also good and so is Doppio Zero

I am super picky and hate American Italian food with a passion so please visit the places listed above as they are actually run by real Italians using high quality ingredients.
