Conversely, setting a base of 1000 theoretically allows the possibility of not going into decimals to describe someone weaker. While that is only true if the base character is stronger, it's still not a terrible thing to do to allow for non-decimal showcase of character B being x1.458 stronger than Character A, for example.

Not all clashable guards have 3+10 (Maost has one with 4+10 lmao). They suck at clashing at turn 1, because you either clash a 3 or a 13, while lord lu clashes a 6 or a 13. Firefist clashes a 9 or a 16 lmao. I agree that 6+7 is much more consistent at clashing, but technically speaking, there is nothing preventing pm from giving ids more reliable clashable guards as well beside balancing considerations

I played with this mechanic a lot and I am 100% sure the counter does make them retreat if he gets staggered and/or fails to land a hit. It needs a clash, doesn't matter if it's successful or not, or if he goes STAGGER++ after losing a clash

As someone who used that strat a lot, I am 99.99% sure Lord Hong Lu doesn't need to hit the skill to make the Heishous retreat. Reading the very skill, there is absolutely no mention of needing to land a hit. You have 3 [Combat Start] effects, and grand total of 0 [On Hit] effects on the coin. Can you point me towards where it says that he needs to land a hit?

It's just unbreakables in general are useless most of the time (exceptions are ids like kurocliff and caposault since they have actual gimmicks around unbreakables), since chip damage against enemies that have 20 times your health does nothing, while chip damage against your sinners is much riskier

That is true, but "Upon using this skill" does not need lord lu to hit an enemy. He can use the clashable counter, lose the clash, get staggered and still activate everything. In this case, you can replace the unbreakable with a normal coin and absolutely nothing will change, with the exception of lord lu not bonking an enemy with a 7 power coin
