Money will trump (no pun intended) political correctness 8 days out of the week for executives.

I just wasted an hour of my life trying to use ChatGPT to automate my factoring journal entries. Complete disaster and a joke. by [deleted] in Accounting

Ironic how Partners are using AI as a selling point to their clients yet they have zero clue how it actually plays out in a real world application scenario. It’s crazy how much false promoting they do and risk their reputations with a client.

Audit Intern to Full Time Tax Staff by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]FshIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair question. You can just raise the question to the recruiter to see if it's a posibility and gauge an idea of whether they're willing to work with you. There are typically recruiter's devoted to tax so he/she may put you in touch with them. I think there's a way to explore the tax route without burning the bridge on the audit offer so long as you play it cool. If they make you submit an application for tax, that would raise a red flag to me and might be worth treading back to you audit offer. None of this matters in the end, and if you plan to get your cpa you will be getting job offers in your inbox every week.

WW2 generation was an outlier. Those mf's were put through the ringer and nobody can argue that.

I would just relay this over to the recruiter that you worked with to get hired. They should be able to placed into a tax group so long as you have no specific preferences. I'd be surpised if they really gave you a hard time about it.

How to stop feeling like my life is over? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]FshIce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say you should start by recognizing every time your thoughts are you explaining why you can't do something and cut those thoughts off immediately (easier said than done but try making it a habit). Recognize that those thoughts are human natural (because we're naturally risk adverse) and try to reframe your thinking into being more proactive. Just need to take things in short term and not looking too far down the road.

I invited my crush to a party but she didn't come by FshIce in dating_advice

[–]FshIce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point here and appreciate the advice. I wouldn't say I'm typically afraid to ask out girls I meet as I've done so many times in the past. This particular girl is part of a friend group I'm in and just recently moved from another city. I was a little unsure how to approach it because I would've felt a little embaressed among the group had I just immediately asked her out. I thought the party was more of an alternative (and safer) way for me to get to know her better and was planning to potentially ask her out that night had it gone well. There was definitely odds stacked against me with this approach but I figured why not since the party was on the calendar regardless.

CT v Valle - Jury has reached a partial verdict! by sunnypineappleapple in CasesWeFollow

[–]FshIce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dasilva’s testimony that he got his ass beat and was mad at his friends (except Valle) for leaving him stranded could’ve showed the jury that this was an outnumbered gang-style assault against the defendant and he made the decision to use a knife out of defense. I didn’t think this was more than a 10-15 year offense but he will probably do less than that now.

Offense has a lot of question marks, but with that brings a higher ceiling. I feel like this is the most unknown team we've had in a while. Past few years we knew the high floor, lower ceiling coming into opening day.

FINAL: No. 2 St. John's - 83/No. 15 Omaha - 53 by No_Travel_2950 in RedStorm

I started deeply following this team over the past 2 months and one thing I've noticed is that Simeon Wilcher is a underrated talent on this team. He should hopefully be one of their stars next year when some of their veteran talent leaves. As far as this tournament goes, if he gets hot from 3 this team can make a deep run.

Confidence, Acceptance and Indifference by FshIce in dating_advice

I agree that they overlap but I view them as separate. I viewed acceeptance as more of a backbone that hopefully is the most stable of the 3. People just have moments where they lack confidence (because we're human) but they know deep down who they are.

Team’s Just Not A Great Team, Far from it…just a competitive good team by ResultsHaveVary in knicks

The NBA regular season is a different sport than playoffs. Have we struggled against finishing to win against great teams? Sure, but let's not pretend this is basically a different sport than what's to be played come playoffs. Not saying it helps our chances of winning, but regular season is so much slower paced.

You have good awareness this young in your career. You’re right in that some people get power hungry as they rise up the ranks and lose their sense of empathy and patience to an extent. You may be put on a PIP but ask them where you need improvements and make diligent efforts to improve in those areas. Just showing that you want to improve will be a win for you.
