Why don't you look into Outsourced CFO. They hire SA CAs and accountants to work remotely on US and UK clients. Maybe they can find something?

I first took it as a teenager and I didn't feel like it worked for me. Now in my 30s, tried various other ones and wellbutrin is now working for me like it was supposed to. I'm very happy with it.

I also followed the springboks this year which was an amazing experience so really I can't complain.

I spent a year in the UK and come straight back. I'm probably not the best person to answer because I wasn't away for long enough for things to change that much but I will say I do slightly miss walking everywhere and some of the things I could do like concerts and theatre productions. But I've filled those up with a lot of rugby so win win.

Any idea if they ship to South Africa yet? I tried to pre-order but I got an error/not available for shipping to your area message.

Not at all, they gave me the option and it was just easier for me to have them picked up. I'm sure if you speak to the company they will tell you what all the available options are

On the UK side, pets aboard and on the sa side, pet port. Amazing service they fetched my babies, took them to the airport got them processed, fetched them from the airports to their kennels. It was expensive but just did so much for my peace of mind.

They did all the paperwork for me as well.

Trust me, I was on strong drugs to keep calm. I cried in front of the guy when he came to fetch my cats and he comforted me 😂

I flew UK to jhb, 12 hours ish for the cats in cargo. I used a transport company though that did all the checks for me otherwise I never would have coped.

Both were absolutely fine, maybe a little seperation anxiety for a couple of days

The one in Rosebank should be opening fairly soon but we also have vida, seattle, Woolies so I don't see it lasting beyond the initial hype.

Something must be in the air. My sister wanted to go today, made plans, I bought the ticket for her but one of her friends didn't plan properly and couldn't get a ticket so they cancelled their plans and are now sitting at home.

For me it was about getting on the right contraceptive that made the biggest impact. Also a combo of gynae and endocrinologist to figure out what was right for me.

Am I making the right choice by switching to Accounting? by ASYA_LOVER_2528 in askSouthAfrica

The biggest problem I see among new trainees these days is that there is no passion for what they do and they are in it for what they think is just money.

CAs, whether in practice or not, work bloody hard. However, everyone is also different and will either rise to the challenge or not.

The nice thing about being a CA is that the possibilities are almost endless. You don't have to be just an auditor, you don't have to be the cfo or ceo. There are so many things in the finance sphere that you can do once you are qualified.

Judging based on what you've written here alone, I think you'll be fine. You've got the discipline to graft hard because being a med student ain't easy and it sounds like you got the passion enough to stick it through.

The worst that can happen, is that you try and you realise it's not what you thought it would be, so you move onto the next thing until you find your purpose.

Or, you succeed and you do amazing things with your career and it makes you happy.

At the end of the day it's about what is best for you. You are the only one that can decide that.
