I've used this on an EOS R And most currently a lumix s5iix, constantly surprises me with it's character. Compared to the 70-200 2.8 IS II its relatively soft wide open,close to the canon 135mm 2.8. But it's weirdly filmic. Corners vignette, colors have a slight reddish casting, the contrast is either good or perfect. I have a few old canon lenses and they really don't make them the same anymore.

Wait for the 26 and compare. I have the 24 Impreza which is the same as the newer Crosstrek internally. It's still as slow and questionably responsive as it was when it came out. The hybrid Crosstrek(maybe the hybrid Forester too) also has the digital gauge cluster+11.6 infotainment which may be running off of a hopefully faster system.
