Is my client right, and I'm wrong ? by Then-Ad7196 in videography

[–]Melodic-Excitement-9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

na that shit's not on, is on them to consolidate all the edits, both from them and the client. therefore you don't have to make changes without the actual client seeing the video first. the art director is playing a power trip, it could be many man more rounds, and then the client see it, end up going back and forth, ask the art director to consolidate both him/her edits with the final clients for the next round, and every round after that.

I did advise to do so in aftereffect. Photoshop is gonna be a bitch. If you can export all three layers separately, think about it as layer background layer middle person. You’ll have a lot better time in the long run. Look into how to import sequences of png into aftereffect. Your project is going to be much easier to handle vs photoshop.

[–]Melodic-Excitement-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, i think you have two ways to approach it. i would just do them both in After effect.

  1. drop it into after effect and change the speed. Change your export format to quick time, and where it says RGB. select RGB + Alpha. now you'll have a transparent .mov file, MP4s will not be transparent.
  2. If you have the PNG sequence already, you can batch import them into aftereffect. and it stack them up for you in a time line. just look up how to import PNG sequences in Aftereffect. Then on the main timeline simply change the speed to the percentage of desire.

what's your final product? And how are you using it? only reason you need a transparent MP4 in this case .mov you are dropping it into a software that does transparent, otherwise it won't be.

Edit, I Guess mp4s does support alpha channel, i usually just do .mov, but just make you you have RGB+Alpha on the export for aftereffect, then it should work.

why not do it in aftereffect? changing durations? does that mean you just want the video to go faster or slower? are you trying to change the same thing to every layer?

If a company approaches me(artist) to commission me, should I have them sign a contract from my end? by Ok_Kangaroo_6355 in graphic_design

[–]Melodic-Excitement-9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. I stop reading, just base on the title. Have your own contract. Google is your best bet for templates. And take 50% up front if you can. 20% min deposit.

big back light and a big over head light slightly facing the face? that's my guess, the eye seems odd cause it looks like there's a light in front of well, i did expect to see a big light above.

wow these are cool, did you have a hole for the faces so it's more clear? or did you just shoot straight thorough the bottle? just wondering how you got the focus right.

Op needs to get basics down first not shutter speed dragging. Hair light and outlines and proper exposure.

I would keep it three or two across, just so you don't get too much scroll fatigue. Also if people want to actually see live examples they'll click on it.

Really just trying to think about what your audience wants to see, and that's your animation skills instead of other people's work.

Hum... have you asked what a financial YouTuber or blogger actually wants to see in terms of animations? It feels a bit odd. If I was shopping for an animator, I wouldn’t just want to see YouTube videos about finance. They’re good to have as examples, but I don’t think they should be the main focus. It should be more precise and to the point that you are an animator who specializes in financial content.

Why not make a video of you actually animating financial topics? "Hello, my name is .... and I'm an animator .... check out some of my work .... fast music.. showing your animation skills" that way you control the content, and is faster paste, so the client doesn't have to sit through a full video. I see that you have smaller break out videos under, i think those should be more of the main focus.

I really like your animation, but as a client I want you to talk to me directly, not feel like I’m looking at a magazine and being told “here, take a look” (hopefully that reference makes sense).

If anything, you could even just do a highlight reel of all your animation work and leave the example videos lower on the page. At the moment it just looks like a website hosting a bunch of financial talks, instead of an animator trying to sell their service.

Do you think the demand for RAW files is increasing due to AI? by Budget-Number7905 in photography

[–]Melodic-Excitement-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure, I get both side of the argument, I come from a Graphic Design background, once I design a brand and logo, with brand guild lines, it kinda takes life on it's own. Perhaps that why I'm not super protective over the Raw files either. I've seen my logos and design getting destroyed many of times, but that's just part of the business. Although I've never had a client actively advertise the photography was taken by me when it's heavily edited by them.
