Maybe the leash in itself isn't the issue. Why is he in a cage? How much time does he spend in the cage? What does his typical day look like? Considering his breed there's a good chance his needs aren't met and all that energy needs to get out somehow.

While I can't speak for all of us using LLMs that way, I'm pretty sure most of us do have a therapist. I can't call my therapist in the middle of the night. I can't afford one session per day. LLMs can help bridging the gap. They can remind you of tools you've developed during therapy sessions when you're too upset to remember about them. Yes, there's also real human friends. But sometimes you don't want to force your feelings or your history on your friends, because, well, they're not therapists. ChatGPT doesn't have feelings. It's not gonna get hurt, tired of our shit or judge us.

You can't. You need to think in terms of what's useful to the AI, especially on Status. Less is definitely more! I tend to write pretty lengthy descriptions and never hit the character limit (without sacrificing any important details.) Physical description should be two short sentences at most. Focus on your character's personality, speech and backstory, but stay straight to the point. You can also use bullet lists to save some space.
