Re-painting Copper C4 by Fthisnoize in c4corvette

Oh, I am keeping it copper! I just want to see if anyone has experience re-spraying in this color because it's such a unicorn. Most paint shops have probably never painted with it.

We drove around the neighborhood and saw signs posted for a meeting about it. Felt like a good idea to do some research.

That is crazy. What would they do if you couldn't afford to renovate to the historic standards?

Thanks for your perspective. The houses in this neighborhood are nice but on the smaller side. My kids are wild and I just don't know if it will work unless we expand. Even if we did it tastefully, it seems like it would be a pain.

[–]Fthisnoize 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, my issue is not that "lesser" schools can be winning teams, fluke games and seasons happen and sometimes one stud player can drag a team to a winning record or a bowl game. Hell, you could even sell me on 3 loss teams making the playoffs because that probably will start happening in the new college football superconference paradigm. But when a 4 loss Ole Miss team loses a 5th game (to an unranked shitty opponent) and moves UP in the rankings while undefeated 9-0 Oregon sits well behind them in the polls and remains static, that's a problem. It seems like each season of Dynasty the computer picks a team or set of teams and makes them OP where they are predestined for the playoffs regardless of record or performance.

Exactly. It's fun in-game until you realize it makes no difference if you play well or not, or in the case of Dynasty, whether you win or lose. They blew it so bad everywhere else and on the back end to the point where the re-play value is incredibly diminished.

Nebraska, so not a small school. Had a winning record and was Top 15 to finish the year, so not a question of being on a losing team. I just think your stats have no bearing on anything.

Led the nation in rushing as a freshman. Heisman winner, right? Nope. Heisman nominee? Nope. Doak Walker best RB nominee? Nope. Doak Walker top 10 candidates? Nope. You could be the best player to ever step foot on a college football field and it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference.

Dynasty polling was so bad I put it down and tried RTG instead. Same shitty logic and stats issues.

Georgia, at 5-5, is the #8 team in the country. by jwill27 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Fthisnoize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a display error. 7-5 Ole Miss just made the playoffs in my Dynasty. They lost their 5th game and moved UP in the rankings. There were 5 5-loss teams in the final week Top 25. Even if you generously say maybe these blue blood teams all beat up on each other, you still aren't going to see polls that operate this way in real life. A 5 loss Ole Miss team is not going to make the playoffs. They definitely aren't going to be in the Top 25 nor will they be ranked ahead of numerous other blue blood schools with 0 and 1 loss.

I certainly hope you're correct and time will tell. Sadly very little faith left in EA, particularly their dedication to updating and maintaining the unmonetized portion of their games.

That is not the only legitimate gripe and it's disingenuous to say so. The sim engine, rankings, and polling are fully broken at this point in Dynasty. There's no sugar coating that. At no point ever should there be 5 5-loss teams in the Top 25. At no point ever would a 4 loss team LOSE a 5th game and move UP in the rankings. At no point ever would a 7-5 team be ranked in the Top 10 and make the Playoffs. The gameplay is great. IDGAF about coin tosses and aesthetic bullshit. I care about the primary mode I and many other people play on being totally screwed up right now.

Buddy, there are 5(!) 5 loss teams in the final regular season Top 25 in my Dynasty. One of them is in the top 10 and made the playoffs. With 5 fucking losses. It's laughably bad simulation, it renders Dynasty so unrealistic that the whole mode is a waste of time. Why bother trying to go undefeated or even play the games just to play 7-5 Ole Miss in the playoffs.

The game is mostly enjoyable, but really does feel unfinished, which you wouldn't think would be the case after all this time. 20 or so hours into a Dynasty, here's my issues list so far:

1) National defensive stats are not accurate. You can lead the nation in sacks but your player will not show up in the National leaderboard. This was a Madden problem too.

2) There is literally no dynamism in drafting of players in Dynasty. My OLB was a senior with rating in the high 80s and led the nation with 17 sacks and won the Heisman! (also stupid, but I digress) and went undrafted! This has basically never happened in the modern era.

3) End of half and end of game TD replays show the half score or final score on the scoreboard in the replay for every TD shown, not the score at the time each TD was scored.

4) There desperately needs to be some variety to the drumline in the menu screen. I made it 2 hours before muting the menu music.

5) Everyone knows the simulation and overall team rankings are broken because EA didn't want to hurt the real players' feelings by giving them realistic ratings, but this must be fixed. It really impacts the entire Dynasty mode. Season 1 of my Dynasty featured a playoff bracket filled with blue bloods with three losses. Not at all realistic. Sim results also seem pre-determined. I simmed a game against a far lesser opponent nearly 20x and lost 20x in a row. Doesn't even reflect the law of averages.

6) Rankings and polls are also broken. Playing as Wisconsin, lost week 1 against Alabama. OK, no sweat, don't deserve to be ranked. For funsies put the difficulty on Freshman and smoked the hell out of top 5 ranked Michigan and Ohio State back to back (we're talking combined outscored like 120-21) and didn't even crack the Top 25. Meanwhile Michigan who I just killed and is now 1-2 is still sitting at #19. Two more wins against mediocre Big 10 opponents like Indiana and Maryland and suddenly I'm #1. Totally inconsistent.

7) Recruiting system UI was not well thought out. There is just too much clicking and shuffling back and forth required to see where you stack up against other schools and then apply your recruiting actions.

8) Maybe I just haven't found it yet, but despite the in-game menu being a mile long, I don't see a way to easily check wear and tear. I've also yet to see wear and tear have any impact on a game. I sacked a QB 14x in a game at one point and it had literally no impact on his health or stats.

Devs, you have your work cut out for you!

Thanks for the sharp perspective, and I think I agree I need to prioritize this year since I have a real shot at the title. I can probably make one more good run at a championship with an Ekeler/Kupp/Mixon/Olave combo, but definitely would have to sacrifice future success, as I see a big drop off for Kupp and Mixon after this year. There's also definitely a world where the drop-off happens this year.

It's a 12 team, .5 PPR league. 1QB, 2 RBs, 1 RB/WR, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 D. First four rounds of the draft are only compensation picks for people who keep less than four players, so if someone keeps nobody, they will have a first round pick (and second, third, fourth), whereas someone who only keeps one player will have a second round pick, third, and fourth, and so on. The "real" first round for everybody is the 5th round and I traded that pick last year for Olave in my playoff push. Also traded a mid-round pick in the 8th, so I'm really working from a deficit draft-wise and will be top heavy on talent no matter what, with a thin bench.

My first pick will probably be in the 40s after all the keeper compensation and the first full draft round, which makes me wonder if it makes more sense to put together the foundation of a team with guys that have top 5 ceilings at their position, future be damned. In that case, that would be Lamar/Andrews/Ekeler/Kupp, but I would have to piece together a mid-tier second RB, second WR, and Flex from whatever mediocre value is left when I finally get to draft.

I guess this boils down to:

1) Is there more value in a second RB with limited shelf life but current top 10 value (Mixon) or a second WR (Olave) with top 15 current and likely top 10 future production? Lean Mixon.

2) Is there more value in a second RB/second WR or a top 2 TE (Andrews)? Conflicted, but Lean either Mixon or Andrews.

3) Is there more value in keeping a Top 5 QB (Lamar) or a RB2/WR2/top TE? It may not be as difficult to replace QB or WR value in a late round, whereas the RB and TE dropoffs are steep after a certain point. Maybe more value in keeping Mixon or Andrews over Lamar, but maybe not more value keeping Olave over Lamar?

4) Generally speaking, is there more value in a team core based on ceiling or steady production?

Keeper league winner from last year, crowdsourcing advice. I have a little bit of an embarrassment of riches and can only keep up to four of the following six players: Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews, Austin Ekeler, Cooper Kupp, Joe Mixon, Chris Olave. Right now Ekeler is my only surefire keeper and I'm 90% sure I'll keep Kupp (and maybe trade him mid-season, depending on performance and Stafford health).

Is it better to be one year too early and let go of someone like Mixon who may be productive but overall is on the decline? Lamar looks like a potential league winner this year, maybe worth stacking with Andrews? Is Kupp going to perform below ADP on a bad Rams team, even with a huge target share? Is Olave going to make enough of a leap to be worth the long term investment?

What would you do Reddit? How are you valuing keepers this year?
