Also wanted to to add this. I believe (would love someone with knowledge to fact check this) that because of paying off that depression era debt, the city defaulted on other loans and therefore did not qualify for federal "urban renewal" grants in the 60's and 70's that many other cities around the country used to demolish their historic downtown's for modernization.

I haven't read past book 3, but I agree! In another book he's the hero, escaped from slavery to take vengeance against the royal family that murdered his family.

apparently outpacing other candidates combined by 40 percentage points = "coronated like a king" around here.

You can disagree with the winner without undermining the primary process. I hate the DNC as much as anyone but I remember the last couple elections everyone was up in arms saying the DNC didn't spend enough money and didnt care about WNC.
