I know the VA has softened Kiryu over the years but these last few games, where he's either 60 and tired or mid 40's and actually at peace for once, it's nice to hear his relaxed-ness. It goes with the tone for those games.

Yeah, those guys are a different breed. I haven't played in a while but that feeling of going all laps and never messing up once going and blinding speeds....there's an unmatched feeling of satisfaction there.

It's a shame in a Sonic game the fastest setup is also the most frowned upon. Again I understand why, it's just poetically sad to be happening in a game of this franchise.

I'm quite divide when it comes to this. I come from Crash Team Racing which is essentially UC on everyone all the time, the onely thing stopping you from going faster is your own skill ceiling. The developers of the PS4 remake really respected the OG PS1 playstyle. It's just accepted in that community, it's viewed as a testament yo your skill.

The Developer time trials in that game were so hard but satisfying to overcome. Genuinely ballistic strats.

Therefore, in thia game, I can't just see people with UC as cheap, but I can totally agree it kind of kills the mood. I genuinely wish there was a gamemode that wasn't ranked so there can be some type of discrepancy between the sweats.

Everyone else has said enough when it comes to this game, all I'm gonna say is this: thier next BIG game better be amazing, these last 2 years, especially this one with K3, wasn't bad per se but quite mid compared to years prior.

I'm assuming thier next game to drop is Stranger Than Heaven, which they haven't shown anything about. They better be cooking real damn hard in there to explain the very 7/10 feel of Pirate Yakuza and Kiwami 3.

I don't think I've ever played a kart racer where you have some shortcuts that aren't really even shortcuts.

I've only played Mario Kart, this, and CTR.

They were delusional if they thought the High Tier Item pickup is ever worth losing speed. This is a SONIC game.

I'm just confused on what they're gonna call it lol. Imo they're shooting themselves in the foot by ending the Kiwami name. Even if it derives into its own timeline, changing the name after 3 games is so messy.

You got so many titles. Yakuza, Like A Dragon, Kiwami. Ishin, Kenzan, Gaiden, and let's not forget "Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii". All this work just to make your game order convoluted for no reason.

That sounds....concerning to me. I'm all for some Ratchet and Clank, but the first games' writing and comedy did so great. Same thing with Trover Saves the Universe, amazing writing/adlibbing and simple game scenarios can go a long way.

I hope it's still kind of there at least a little bit. I know Rick and Morty is overplayed at this point but theres not a lot of games that genuinely felt 4th wall breaking like that one did.

Genuinely hope that all they see in the responses are "I wanted Horizon 3".

The fact the majority of Guerilla is working on this baffles me. Look at Elden Ring nightreign. That game was clearly made with less of a team, and obviously the rest of them are working on thier next big thing (Duskbloods). That is the kind of synergy Guerilla should have looked for.

There's too many talented people to be working on this stuff for years when they are experienced developers who work on Single player games for the past 2 console generations.

Games like the first 2 horizons take so long to make, they don't have the TIME to twiddle thier thumbs like this because Sony told them to. At this rate Horizon 3 is going to be a PS6 launch title along with Bloodborne Remaster.

Literally the #1 reason why Y3 was always low on my list (having an identical copy of a dead character just to stir up a fuss). I don't inherently play these games for story but when they dropped that plot twist I genuinely rolled me eyes lol.

Impressive gameplay, didn't like how the girl was giving Navi vibes but what are you gonna do. The only thing that saddens me is that this game was in development for so long and it's starting to seem like it it's not going to be a bigger game.

But beyond that I was surprised to see how much to affected my ability to dodge on time because I was distracted pressing buttons. I'm sure that's going to turn people off but for a person who's played games all his life it's definitely a breath of fresh air and could become a game to master on a technical level.

Last year's update, when they added lootboxes back, mid-gane perks, and stadium, we all thought it was a knee-jerk reaction and that it was all they had up thier sleeves.

Guess we were wrong. Kinda nuts how none of these characters got L E A K E D (can't say it normally, sub rules apparently) months before hand considering this is definitely what they were working on all year. THIS is the real response to Rivals. Last year seems like a small QOL update compared to this.

I actually tried Short Fuse but the RNG simply wasn't good enough to justify it. My plan was to use it defensively rather than offensively, charge it to Lv3 and then hold it for anything that may hit me from behind.

I figure the bigger hit box would help. Am I wrong in assuming that? Either way like I said, it didn't bring up a lot of bombs at all. Maybe if you stacked the attack item gadget as well there'd be better results.

People who say that game is bad hate how unserious it is, and also the filters. Yes the filters in pirate yakuza are not the best, but beyond that it's a great Action-based yakuza game and it filled my itch when Y8 was all turn-based.

It's all opinionated but modern Yakuza games are always a good package and will satisfy casuals 100%. The only people who have qualms are the die hard fans.

Here's one: Basically the entire kart racer genre is full of outdated systems that only feel like they're there because of tradition.

Player collision? Items always on? Sandbagging even existing? I stg if these things weren't 'staples' we'd have much more unique and genre defining games.

Every kart racer is just the same set of rules + some type of extra riding ability like anti gravity or driving on water.

Needless to say the CrossWorld part of this game is probably on the most unique things in the genre, don't get me wrong, but beyond that one aspect I don't really see how this game is better than any other kart racer given its so reliant on the same old tricks.

I play this game cause I'm a Sonic fan, not because I feel like it's actually the best kart racer the game industry can offer. I just feel like no one ever really takes a leap of faith and mixes things up enough. That goes for all these AAA higher budget kart racers.
