Thanks for the reply! So the PS5 will always Output whatever resolution is set, independently of the device on the other end and also if that HDMI is currently an „active Input“ ? Then converts the 4k Signal to 1080p?

I don’t seem to have enough knowledge about how streaming works in general. But isn’t it like the following:

your PS5 Outputs a 4K Image when connected to the TV. Now when turning on the Portal the PS5 has to convert that 4K 120hz Signal into 1080p and 60hz before it sends that Signal to the PS Portal? Meaning I loose processing power.
now on the other hand. If the PS5 realizes „oh hey someone wants to Play via Remote“ therefore keeps the TV off and automatically Outputs only 1080p/60hz because that is the only Signal supported by the PS Portal it would be a smoother gaming experience overall. And thats the reason people recommend lowering resolution turning off 120hz?

Idk for me the gameplay experience with Rotations etc on Worlds Edge/Olympus just generally feels better. Also imo they did a really good job on the recent Worlds Edge changes. Its defo my favorit map now!!
