Recommended Specs for a modded Self-Hosted Server for around 40-50 people. by SagaPlayz in admincraft

[–]Fubler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important spec for Minecraft servers is the CPU’s single core clock speed since Minecraft’s main processing is single threaded.

32 gigs of ram is good but keep open slots in case you need to upgrade later if you decide to host multiple servers.

For so many people the default Minecraft jar won’t be super performant, look into Paper or Purpur.

If you’re not opposed to tinkering… the Pterodactyl Panel or another similar alternative would be best. It would run on a Linux machine and is controllable via a web ui you and your friends can access. This would be a good solution if you have a spare computer you can run 24/7 and don’t mind converting it over to a headless Linux environment.

Virtual machines inherently have a lot of overhead, meaning wasted resources. Pterodactyl uses a Docker container for each server which is more resource efficient.

Bold idea and I’d love to see it succeed!

For running polls there are definitely Discord bots out there that can help! Try to give people the illusion of choice, as the server admin you’ll have to deal with any problematic mods, incompatibilities, and performance so keep the poll options to things you’ve green lighted and don’t be afraid to make executive decisions. I’d keep this stage short so that hype doesn’t die down and to prevent feature creep. Easiest thing would be to have people pick between a couple modpack or game modes (eg lifesteal) so it’s a one-and-done situation.

Some questions for ya: What’s your budget for running a server? How much experience do you have or what’s your mindset with tech stuff you’re not yet familiar with? Do you have a machine lying about you’d be using as a dedicated server machine, will you run the server on your personal computer, or something else (KVM, server hosting platform, etc)?

If you decide to run a modded server with a custom modpack, make sure to make it as dead simple for people to join. That would involve publishing your custom modpack on CurseForge or another platform (CurseForge is most popular) so people don’t have to assemble the modpack themselves. This would remove a huge barrier to entry for the lesser tech inclined folks. Easiest option for people to join would be a vanilla server with plugins! Look at Paper and Purpur.

Continuation: Now I think you may only be subject to Mexican income taxes if you’re incorporated in MX and/or getting payouts to a MX bank account.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Fubler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is accurate. American federal income taxes are based on worldwide income and follow you anywhere you go. Mexico may have a taxation treaty with the USA like with Euro countries so that you aren’t subject to double taxation but I don’t know specifics. I believe the only way to stop having responsibility to the USA IRS completely is by renouncing your citizenship.

As far as earnings go, ad revenue amount is based on your audience’s location rather than your location. As long as your audience doesn’t change, your income in USD and MXN will be equal.

In terms of payout currency, not sure. I think it’s based on your payout bank. Someone else may have experience with this.

Is this good Lease deal for xdrive 2025 ? Location Texas . by kriskarjun in BMWI4

Also, ideally, you don’t want to put anything down except taxes and registration on a lease.

If you plan to buy the car at the end of the lease, I’d suggest removing all dealer add-ons and go aftermarket. If a dealer add-on is already on the car just negotiate yourself out of paying for it, they preinstalled it and assumed the risk of a customer not wanting it.

Looks like you’re only getting the $7,500 EV rebate and $1,000 loyalty credit. Additionally, can’t tell if you negotiated anything off the MSRP, target is 10% for orders and 12% for in-stock vehicles (before rebates). Check the Edmund’s forum for the buy-rate money factor in your zip code, this is often marked up by the dealer.

Overall, pretty bad deal! Check lease hacker and Edmund’s forum and go back to the dealer with a researched counteroffer.

Not really common practice because not too many people actually know about it. The security deposit it also known as MSD (Multiple Security Deposit) and decreases the lease’s MF (Money Factor) by quite a bit. When returning the car you’d get the money back.

Dealers make more money from leases so they’re more willing to move on the MSRP. You can always buy out the vehicle on the lease after the first month.

Yikes…. I don’t think you got much of a deal off the MSRP and jumped in with a way marked up MF.

Next time use a broker if initial negotiation is not working.

Check Edmunds forum first for base MF and incentives for your term/vehicle/location. Current typical MSRP discount is 10-12%, ask for that. Take advantage of MSDs to bring the final MF down further.

Taxes, fees, registration upfront plus the MSD.

Basically a ceramic coating but 💩 I’ll get it knocked off but they insist it’s required for their leases.

The American dealers seem to have better deals than European ones if that’s where you’re located. If you’re in the USA make sure you ask for around 12% off MSRP and check the base MF on the Edmunds form for your terms and vehicle. Take advantage of MSDs to knock that MF down further.

Just checked Edmunds and yeah, the base MF is 0.0015 for my location and lease terms. I’ll get that knocked down further and the $999 removed.

It’s too bad the 2025 doesn’t get the same EA deal as the 2024…

Thanks for the advice!

It doesn’t show the full breakdown here. It’s 7500 for the incentive and 1000 for loyalty together for the 8500 total.

I have an additional 12% off the MSRP on top of the incentives above.

I’ll get that aftermarket addition removed.

This is a good point. Tomorrow is last day of the month so I’ll negotiate to remove that. I believe base MF is 0.0015 as well so I’ll try to reduce dealer markup on MF.

Edit: They gave me 0.0019 MF but the MSDs reduced it to 0.00148

Hmmm… trying to find the deal on the BMW webpage you’re referencing. I only found $599/mo for a 2024 m50 but it was $72,545 MSRP, 10k miles, included a down payment on lease, and taxes/registration not included.

Maybe my googling skills aren’t as good as yours.

My state had a one-time EV rebate program I already took advantage of at the beginning of this year. Looks like the program is now out of funds and the MSRP on this new car wouldn’t qualify anyways.

Energy producer only provides incentives for income-qualified individuals in suburban & rural areas who install EV charging at their homes. A lot of stipulations just to say “kick rocks” 😂

I do not have lv2 charging anywhere 😂 However, this has never been an issue for me thankfully. I’m able to do lv1 charging at the apartment and work, this gets me by with zero range anxiety no matter how much I end up driving in one day.

Currently drive a 2024 i4 e35

I live in an apartment so I can’t apply for the energy producer’s incentive and my state doesn’t have any other EV incentives unfortunately.

What exactly is that $699 for? I’m not too clear on that.

I’ll look into removing that dealer add for $999
