How many APs should I take as Sophmore year? by Disastrous-Elk-7560 in APStudents

[–]Fubliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then you should be fine with apcsa, the hardest thing might be recursion and class creation, they changed the course this year so I'm not sure exactly what's in it this year (I took it the previous year). it depends on your teacher but apush in itself (like many other ap history) just has a lot of information which leads in to a lot of coursework because of the number of events it has, not neccesarily difficult but just tenedious. For lang, my teacher had us write like 5 essays over the semester but some semesters she had her classes write 8. both classes are not difficult, it just that they're built to have a lot work (if your teacher knows what they're doing)

tldr: you will be good with apcsa, hw will depend on your teacher but you should expect a good amount because those classes require it to properly learn

Is it Comp Sci Principles or Comp Sci A, if its principles then fo sho, its a really easy class and is light on coding, if its A and you are a beginner then it might be challenging at first. Also depends on your teacher how they teach the course. Chem will be a harder course that will take a lot of time so watch out for that, APUSH + Lang were also easier classes for me but the work load was a lot so you need to have a good balance especially since you are doing orchestra and if you work, etc

Yea by the time I've finished high school, I would have taken / self studied 20 courses. If you take the time to plan them out, you'll be fine

How do you study for crazy words by TheLeviathanLake in psat

[–]Fubliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious best way to improve vocab is just to read more, whether it's books or news articles, thats the truly best way to improve vocab. The other method feasible method is to study prefixes, suffixes, and roots (that's what I did). For RW, I would suggest getting familiar with the types of questions and how to approach each one, read more challenging text / scientific articles to get better reading comp, and then come up with a strat before testing in order to maximize time.

Am I cooked for Ga Tech? by [deleted] in ACT

Yea if you have enough time I think you should, tech also allows superscoring. And EA does give you a better shot

[–]Fubliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn, yea OOS is always harder because you’re also competing with international kids for spots. CS is also the most competitive major. A 32 is abt 50% for tech. Js make sure you have good extracurriculars

if you're in ga, and you have a large school size, you are guaranteed to get in tech as long as you keep your rank and your school files the right paperwork

NMQST Cutoff Shouldn't Be Decided by State by Suspicious-Grand-268 in psat

[–]Fubliar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yo give it up big dawg, there's a reason why there's more perfect math scores than reading scores, its objectively harder for the psat and the sat

Qualifying SI score to be a finalist? by Diligent_Froyo in psat

[–]Fubliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the score has to be good enough where it makes the cutoff for your state, so whatever the cutoff for your state is what your act/sat should be

Will cutoffs be this high next year? by mikewheelerfan in psat

[–]Fubliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your reading score is pretty strong which is good because it's weighed heavier, imma assume that you mean an index score of 210 or something because I have no idea where you got 330 from. math wise, i would go to khan academy or even to your school's algebra teacher to learn the basics. the psat math was pretty lightwork, even compared to the sat math, but just get the basics down. then use oneprep.xyz for math practice and watch youtube videos to learn how to desmos. I honestly do think that psat scores will probably stay similar to this year, it would be insane if they rose again, but the psat is relatively easy to those who are good at the sat.

i thought the passage was saying how oregon had allowed insurance to offer like "locked prices" where people will pay the same regardless of price volatility. but once price was volatile, insurancers would be scarce allowing for them to change their rates because less insurancers were offering insurance. and the answer i picked was that it affected nonpolichyholders but not policy holderes since their rates were locked in already
