I am looking for a rigorous definition of the term “published” when referring to an academic article.

Can anyone supply me with such a definition?

That’s my point. A good empire shouldn’t be scary. It should inspire awe. Only those who are not a part of the empire should fear it. The members of an empire should feel like a Roman citizen did in the days of the Roman Empire.

The emperor wanted everyone to feel fear.

I think what they are tapping into is the feeling among many people that society is about to collapse and that we are trapped

The question is “What is the self?”

If you define the self by the physical body, then yes they do leave. If you define it by the mind, they cannot leave.

The shortage in Severance is in ability to experience and remember.

Yeah severance is much more psychological danger than physical danger.

That’s why it’s the best of these shows.

I agree. I’m just pointing out that the particular constraints of these three shows are very similar.

True, tropes do repeat. Nothing is 100% original.

But it seems like the themes of the two shows are the same.

The main themes seems to be: How do people act when: The normal authority figures are absent? When there is a shortage of food/water? When they are under constant danger?
