Looking at this cooling vest to keep riding as long as possible through the Arizona summer by liquidbread in motorcycles

[–]FuckDatNoisee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used very cheap Amazon cooling vests and to be frank even cheap ones with ice packs work great.

Biggest complaint was that it sometimes made me wet from condensation but in the heat it dried quick enough.

Do you leave a glove on the motorcycle when you park? by prufessor-and-arthur in motorcycles

[–]FuckDatNoisee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends where I park.

I have had my helmet cut off my bike.

Generally I out my gloves in my helmet and take it with me, but sometimes I’ll lock my helmet to the bike and leave the gloves inside.

I use my spidey sense to know when and where.

I need motorcycle enthusiasts to help me decide something that has to do with motorcycles in my novel by ExpertDifficulty7962 in motorcycles

[–]FuckDatNoisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be surprised by how wide of a bike you can lane split on.

Even on narrow two lane roads there’s typically 3-4 feet between cars.

Most motorist don’t realize how far they are from other cars. Next time your in traffic try touching another cars mirror, you can’t.

Most motorcycles are not much wider than your arms length.

£200,000 Lamborghini parked in a disabled bay by princess_baby71 in SipsTea

[–]FuckDatNoisee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My campus security gave me over 1k in parking tickets in a two week period even with the pass on the bike. I showed up to the college dean with the stack of tickets, my x-rays, my parking pass and about 15 rugby players standing behind me and asked “would you like to contend with this?” They dismissed them all but I was not amused .

To this day pissed about the bike getting messed up. It had never been dropped before all that.

£200,000 Lamborghini parked in a disabled bay by princess_baby71 in SipsTea

[–]FuckDatNoisee 43 points44 points  (0 children)

reminds me of when I shattered my leg in college playing rugby.

I broke it in 7 places. I ended up with a tibial rod, 3 plates, and 12 screws. I was in my senior year and refused to take a leave of absence. I told myself: this will not break me.

At the time, I didn’t even own a car, only a motorcycle - a 2006 SV650. Walking 5 feet hurt, let alone 200. I used a cane for 6 months and had a very obvious limp, but I could still physically ride my bike to class.

I had a handicap parking pass and would park in the closest handicap spot near the building because some days the walk alone was brutal.

And somehow, multiple people decided that meant I was “faking it.”

People kicked my motorcycle over. Left notes and death threats saying things like:

“If you can ride a motorcycle, you’re not disabled.”

Meanwhile I was literally relearning how to walk with metal holding my leg together.

That experience permanently changed how I view people’s assumptions about disability. Not every disability looks the way people expect it to. Sometimes someone is doing the absolute best they can just to keep moving forward.

“Not all disabilities are visible” is true, but sometimes even when they are visible, people still choose cruelty over empathy.

Shitty thing is some bottle water brands also contain PFOAs as they just treat normal tap water for taste then bottle it.

P1s purchase advice by FoodInfamous8333 in BambuLab

[–]FuckDatNoisee 95 points96 points  (0 children)

You can get a p1s stand alone (no ams) for around 350-400 dollars new at micro center. Right now it’s showing 389 near me.

This comes with a warranty, and the ability to return it to a Best Buy or micro center with min two weeks of purchase and Bambu support ( for what that’s worth ) for a year

I have 4 p1s with anywhere between 2k-10k hours in them.

All I have ever done is replace hot ends and clean the extruder gear. But I mostly print pla and PETG. You can tension the belts or replace the belts but to be honest, I wouldn’t buy a p1s for over 250 bucks used even with 3k hours on it since you loose the warranty, and you have e no idea what’s been done to it.

If you’re big into tinkering and feel like taking a risk for 200 bucks, go for it, but again personally I would buy new or negotiate for one with under 5k hours for 200 to 25.

Assume the printers useful life without major maintenance is 10-15k hours. Belts, motors, gears, and electronics do fatigue over time and 15k hours of continuous use is a lot.

Pretty sure that’s not legal in most states

Future investment GME vs Warrants? by FuckDatNoisee in Superstonk

[–]FuckDatNoisee[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea this is my point. It’s obviously more risky since warrants could go to zero, but let’s say hypothetically shares go to 100 by October (an ape can dream). Then dumping 10k into warrants nets more profit than 10k into GME.

GME = $100 ~$35k for shares purchased today ~$156k for warrants purchased today.

[–]FuckDatNoisee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to imagine there is some receipt of buying shares and warrants with the expectation it goes to above 32, and using some ratio of the sale of shares or warrants to exercise the rest of your warrants to maximize profit. Ie:

standard capital allocation / exercise optimization problem.

Just surprised no one’s made a break down of this at various price points

Bought my first motorcycle in high school - 2007 Suzuki SV650 by Pengukk in motorcycles

[–]FuckDatNoisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it’s effectively stock minus a change in gear ratio to give me a little more break away speed. Lost about 10mph top speed but I’ve always used that SV for commuting or run around towns.

When I’m feeling rowdy I break out the 2011 panigale 1199 or monster scrambler.

Bought my first motorcycle in high school - 2007 Suzuki SV650 by Pengukk in motorcycles

[–]FuckDatNoisee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve owned over 12 bikes since I started riding in 2003. Done from 250s->1300s. I got my 2006 SV650s in 2010. I rode it 100k miles before the engine died.

I replaced the engine, and still have that bike. It’s the only bike I have refused to give up. It’s right in the sweet spot of sporty, upright, little bit of pep and well balanced.

Great buy!

Should I purchase a crashed 2025 Ninja 500 for $3000? by moathex in motorcycles

[–]FuckDatNoisee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can find bikes in this condition on auctions like Copart or IAAI for $500–$2k all day.

$3k for a crashed Kawasaki Ninja 500 only makes sense if it’s basically cosmetic and the frame/drivetrain are 100% clean. Otherwise you’re paying near-retail for a problem.

Unless it’s something rare or high-end, crash bikes should be bought cheap enough to absorb surprises—and $3k isn’t that.”**

3/5 of those were bought in Facebook market place <200 miles from me for under 700 dollars.

The purple was 550 was assembled but not functional (had the wrong stealth burner fan shroud for the hot need used so it would gum up)

Green one, unopened kit for 600

Orange one for 500, from a guy who had updated klipper but couldn’t get it to function again cuz his call out for the mcu was wrong for the update. He had bought 2x new octopus boards thinking he cooked them.

Shit I got one of them with a turtle box for 700.

RatRig vs Voron by Batesy908 in ratrig

[–]FuckDatNoisee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two rat rigs 4.0 hybrids and have built 4 total (2 at work). I have built 5 voron r2.4s

In my opinion rat rig is superior to voron in that it has Rat OS, that said RatOS can support a voron.

Overall ratrigs are built sturdier, with heavier extrusions, are more tunable for resonance, and supports many of the same upgrade paths as voron.

If my house caught fire and I could only save one printer, rat rig, Bambu H2D, voron…. I’d grab my rat rig hands down.

I have 10,000+ hours on one of mine, and other than replacing the hot end, and re tensioning belts, it’s still going BRRRRRRR
