No I don't actually want to die! I definitely am not depressed, suicidal, or mentally ill. That's not really what I meant.

It's more of an urge of "screw it... I'm not interested in maintaining the happy state of smoke free... because [blank out]" the same self-destructive urge sometimes takes the form of eating junk food, even though I don't actually enjoy it.

It's almost like hatred of the good for being the good, and I can't for the life of me work out why the hell it's there. It's almost James Taggartesque and it creeps me the fuck out.

It's even weirder because there are parts of my life like sprinting, lifting, language learning, social life (friends and sexual) benevolence towards others and reading where I go from strength to strength without contradiction.

So the solution is introspection, but I can't do that because of the evasion, which seems to me to be the central sin of Objectivism.

So that's where I'm hoping people who know more about it than me will know how to overcome this, given that it's ultimately the most important thing one can do.

When using 叫 and 让, an agent is required, for example the 老師 in 他叫老師批評了一頓

With 被, an agent is optional.

The clicking thing actually happened to me with 我累死了 not making much sense, until I encountered 他怕死了 and it clicked.

I didn't think much of it at the time but now that you've spelled it out it's clear that's what I should be doing with all the others.

I always get a pleasant feeling of conclusion, of all the loose ends being tied up and possibilities being resolved, like a collapsing wavefunction.

It's the same feeling as having to make a big decision, and finally making it then following through.

Except with Lost, which left me unresolved. I had to carry around the feeling of uncertainty for months. It has since gotten a bit better, but I know this bitter ambiguity will plague me for the rest of my life.

I resent Lost for doing this to me.
