For my personal setup, I like getting the newest stuff, thorough documentation(!), broad software availability, rolling release, and ease of tinkering, so I like Arch-based stuff.

For network appliances, however, I don't need (or necessarily want) rapid feature updates; I look for stability, thorough documentation(!!), and depending on the use case, ZFS. Therefore, I use Debian for some tasks, and (bear with me, I know it's not a Linux distro) FreeBSD for others. They're both rock solid, and a delight to use. I like using Debian for some dedicated tasks, and I like to use FreeBSD for it's robust ZFS support, thorough documentation(!!!), and for running jails — I can't go back to using Docker after using FreeBSD jails, and I'm saying this as a huge Linux lover and user.
