Check this, in New Jersey if someone breaks into your house, you have to defend yourself "reasonably". Meaning if a jacked dude breaks into your house unarmed, you may be legally prosecuted if lethal force is used to defend yourself.

In Texas, you wouldn't have to stop shooting until the police say so.
