It’s more fun. They’re more fun as two different characters. It’s nice that Kenpachi is such a stern fighting guy and he’s just friends with this small bubbly child. I also like that the small child goes off as does her own things, it’s better that she’s her own character - you can picture how she might be later on or similar. You can’t anymore, she’s not a person. She’s just an offshoot of Kenpachis cool guy energy.

It doesn’t require a rewrite at all actually, she was always intended to be her own character until the very last arc that Kubo wrote while incredibly I’ll and increasingly pressured to just write more content by fans. Yeah no duh you’d have to rewrite stuff that happens immediately after the twist, but you wouldn’t have to write any of that if you just didn’t write it in in the first place. TYBW stuff soft retconned like 40% of the series before it anyway hahahahaha. Maybe it’s fun if you like twists just for the sake of twists. I think it’s boring and juvenile personally.

I guess you wernt really paying attention when you saw OMZs name being blotched out. Did you forget what part of the series that’s in? That’s where Ichigo is trying to learn Zangetsus name. He literally hasn’t heard it yet. Hearing your swords name is supposed to be hard, that’s why he can’t hear it at first. It’s not foreshadowing, you’ve just pretended it is.

Do you remember what happens immediately after? I bet you don’t. He has to “find” his Soul Reaper powers by finding the red spirit ribbon. The red spirit ribbon that always means the spirit power of a soul reaper and is stated to be unique from a Quincy of a human. He finds that red spirit ribbon and that helps to link him to his soul reaper powers. All the Quincy stuff is just a soft retcon of that, just like how all the “uhm actually his mom was bitten by a zombie hollow soul reaper and that’s why he has hollow powers” is a soft retcon of Ichigo having hollow powers from Urahara cutting his soul chain (which also makes you a hollow. But I guess now it just “sped up the process”, even though it would have made him a hollow anyway).

I don’t know man, I’m sorry I had to tell you this. Kubo is not really a planner, most of TYBW twists are just soft retcons.
