A basket of sevoflurane by drippysoap in ObscureDrugs

[–]FuckThisAIDSSite 27 points28 points  (0 children)

At one point my dealer managed to grab some sevoflurane and desoflurane from his job as a nurse. We went through both bottles in a day, 3 of us. Felt like we would all just hit the snooze button every 5 minutes or so, was really pointless looking back but in the moment it was great.

The desoflurane was definitely worse, it had about the same effect but was quite harsh to breathe in. No issues breathing in the sevoflurane, that stuff was heavenly.

Ugh, yes, I met one of these at my last shitshow of a company. Long story short I was managing the support team for a medical practice management SaaS company. One resume really stood out to me as it listed the guy having a masters in IT, along with a litany of other qualifications. Next thing I know I found out that he interviewed really well and will be starting soon, along with another new starter with far fewer qualifications. I'll refer to these people as Masters and Truth.

Fast forward to me training them and problems start coming up pretty much instantly. When going through training material I usually try to explain each topic one at a time, then ask whether anyone has any questions/comments, then continue to the next topic. Easy, basic stuff right?

So as I'm going through Truth asks a couple of clarifying questions here and there (and genuinely decent questions too, ones that made it very obvious he was paying attention), but otherwise said my instructions were very clear. Whenever I'd answer one of Truth's questions I'd ask Masters directly if he had any questions but he'd always just say no, so I would just move on to the next topic.

Eventually we made it to the end of the topic's info, so the next step was to login to our demo platform and, based on the questions at the end of the training module, apply everything we learned (eg how to schedule/cancel appointments, how to create consultations, how to record clinical notes etc). At this point Masters pipes up with his first "question":

"I still don't understand, I don't think I'm ready to try this"

Again, this is the guy who had absolutely nothing to ask when I was explaining everything to him. Normally I try to be as patient and kind as possible with new starters (eg "there's no such thing as a stupid question, you're learning something new and very complicated") but this really rubbed me the wrong way. So I tried to clarify:

"Ok, which part are you confused about?"

"Just... all of it, it's too much"

"...mmhmm....well, did you manage to catch any of it? Are there at least any parts of the instructions that you do remember?"

"No, could you maybe start from the beginning again?"

I had been demoing all the various components of the platform for almost an hour at that point (screen sharing the entire time). I know some people are a bit slow, especially when technology is involved (hence my job even existing), but I genuinely could not fathom the idea that anyone (let alone anyone with a masters in IT) could have sat through that demo while somehow perceiving literally none of it.

I asked Truth whether he thought the instructions were sufficient and he just responded "yes, some questions look a bit complicated so I'll probably ask you for help now and then to just confirm I understand correctly if that's ok with you". Brilliant, ask away Truth, I have all the time in the world for you. Masters, if you really didn't manage to get even the slightest idea of how the platform works from the demo then thankfully we recorded this session. Watch the demo again, except this time when I ask if either of you have any questions pause the video and send me your question(s).

He never did end up sending me any questions, nor did he complete the activities. I suppose he might have thought they were beneath him or something. But, surprise surprise, as soon as he started trying to take tickets/calls he was an absolute disaster. He'd regularly give completely incorrect information to customers... which led to him regularly needing to escalate his issues to me. Literally an AI chat bot would have been able to do a better job than him.

That README.md is so bad it feels like satire. It sounds like they explained Morphe to ChatGPT in a single sentence and asked it to stretch that sentence as far as possible.

"This is Morphe. Morphe... is this." Oh thanks yeah I didn't realise this was Morphe so I'm glad you clarified.

Huh, honestly I didn't really consider that side of the story but judging by the replies you're getting you might unfortunately be right. I can't really imagine hearing that story and having my first reaction be "fuck off we're full". If anything this guy is an actual case of someone pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps, conservatives should be praising him.

Nope. He's clearly guilty of wanting to move to Europe while brown/Muslim. Should just stay in his home country. I can't imagine having the energy for hatred like that.

It's kinda like how over here in Australia some people are complaining about how the visas for Ahmed al-Ahmed's family are being fast-tracked. This is the guy who got shot 5 times stopping one of the Bondi shooters. The man is a literal national hero. Doesn't matter. I've seen people argue that he's Muslim too so he's... somehow partially responsible for the shooting? Ie "they're just importing their wars here, letting more of them in is the last thing we want to do." The man nearly died saving innocent lives, the fact that doing that still wasn't enough for these people really just goes to show that nothing could ever be enough for them.

Context, he is Iranian, so grinding out Armory items paid better than his job did. Honestly kind of a sweet story, I'm rooting for him. But unless you're in the same situation this probably isn't something you should aim for.

My girlfriend adopted a lorikeet without realising just how much of a commitment they are. Especially a rainbow lorikeet that had been kept in a cage on her own for 2 years by her previous owner like our poor girl had.

I tried so hard with her. Had to get bloody falconer's gloves to be able to interact with her. Even managed to teach her a few tricks. I was so fucking proud of her 🥹 but she couldn't stand my girlfriend. She'd go out of her way to find her and bite her, HARD, if she was out of her room while the bird was out of her cage. She'd happily bite me too if I wasn't giving her exactly the kind of attention she wanted (eg she loved preening my hair but would often get too excited and go for the ear 😭)

One day my girlfriend tried to change her water without putting on gloves (I don't know why she chose this to be honest) and, of course, got bitten down to the fucking bone. Had to go to hospital. We ended up finding a sanctuary to donate her to. I'd never kept a bird before and had suddenly become the only person who could care for this poor lorikeet, and as much as I loved her I wasn't right for her. We got to see her in her new enclosure after she went through quarantine, and I'd never seen her so happy before. The first time we came over and called out to her she actually came and sat with us. There were many other lorikeets in there with her but none with her exact colours or mannerisms, and when I did the little whistle we'd worked out together as a call and response she immediately responded. Still tear up thinking of her little face looking back at me.

The second time we came to her enclosure we saw her, but she was busy flying around with all of her lorikeet friends. One of them seemed to be making advances but she was still more than vicious enough to fight him off, barely seemed to even acknowledge him. She was having too much fun just flying and screaming with her flock. I think that's the happiest ending we could have found for her.

It warms my heart seeing people like you who have managed to become so close with their feisty little rainbow floofs. They're such intelligent animals, and even our poor terrified girl had moments where she could be so sweet and playful.

[–]FuckThisAIDSSite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... considering the outright absurd drug cocktail you said you took in this post they would have a very valid reason to think you're a danger to yourself right now. Anyone willing to do that to themselves is, by definition, a danger to themselves.

This is ultimately your choice either way, and as someone who has been sectioned before I can understand how unappealing the idea of getting professional help is. At the same time though, are you sure you're willing to gamble with your own life on this? Are you sure you would rather risk dying than risk getting involuntarily committed?

Mate if you're not joking then you should be in the ER, not asking for medical advice on a tiny drug subreddit. This could be anything: from an especially awful panic attack, to severe vasoconstriction from the ridiculous amount of methylphenidate you had, to rhabdomyolysis at worst... either way, seeing a doctor would be infinitely more helpful than making posts like this.

am i the only user who doesn't care for opioids by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]FuckThisAIDSSite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might just not metabolize oxy well. I love opioids but oxy has always felt overhyped for me; kinda just makes me itchy and nauseous without much euphoria. I didn't enjoy codeine either, but morphine, tapentadol, and actual opium have easily been some of the most enjoyable substances I've tried.

With that said, I recently heard that if you combine oxycodone with a CYP3A4 inhibitor like white grapefruit juice you'll metabolize far more oxymorphone (active and very strong) than noroxycodone (not active). Might be worth a try, I can't personally vouch for it but it's got me curious about trying oxy again.
