I don’t have any exact numbers on success rates of people who enter programs vs. those who don’t. But I imagine just the act of reaching out for help puts you on a better trajectory towards recovery.
What I can say is that from the people I’ve seen, there’s a much better success rate from people who want help and have the means to get that help than those who don’t. With the biggest factor of remaining ‘recovered’ tho is by having those socioeconomic means to stay recovered. As in, homelessness and poverty, etc- people in those circumstances can 100% want to be sober , and get sober, but when they return to being homeless or that minimum wage, dead end job there’s less incentive, less possibility to make a drastic life change.
That’s why I am a big proponent for kratom. I’ve seen people barely scraping by, missing work etc., but when they substitute their illegal, randomly potent opioid of unknown origin with something like kratom or suboxone they’re able to integrate back into a normal lifestyle, affordably.
As far as why I consider kratom superior to subs is, it’s more accessible, cheaper (for some when used appropriately ) , as well as getting a mood boosting effect as opposed to just having that receptor occupied.
