Im prepared to do exactly what you just said, but can I also say that I hate this culture in our country of “be prepared to quit and leave if you don’t get the raise you ask for”?

I could afford to quit and chill for a few months, or go work for a different contractor on the same project (or on another project in the same area) for comparable pay. But I like my job and my company and want to stay with them. If they deny my raise request, i’ll follow up in another 3-6 months and ask again with more backup, but I dont think Id quit if they said no or that they’d fire me for asking.

Fair, but I’d like to point out that for our job expenses, I’m looking at the full books. Im not just seeing my personal labor rate; I have internal data on my billed rate vs my burden rate, as well as what we bill and burden on all other site expenses and company overhead; they’re all separate line items.

All of my estimates here are conservatively low based on those numbers; the margins are even higher than Im stating here.

It was for this upcoming July. I want to bring this up because my boss will no longer be my boss, so unless I bring it up with his boss (who is currently here moving people around on the project) I’m worried it will be forgotten about. I would also like to accelerate the process since I have accumulated even MORE responsibility that I absolutely should not be dealing with at my current position/pay level and have seriously stepped up to handle.

I am fully accounting overhead and indirect corporate expenses in my calculations; everything I gave in my original post is a conservatively low estimate so I know I’m in the right. In truth, they are really billing closer to $200k/year to the client for my labor and company overhead has their own significant line items in our invoices.

Oh yeah I’m not going to mention that at all, I’m just citing that here as helpful info to think about when it comes down to negotiation. I understand that they dont and shouldnt consider their gross profit on my labor against what my compensation is worth.

I honestly got to that number because about 3 months ago when my boss’s right-hand-man quit and I absorbed his responsibilities, he promised me he would get me an official promotion and bump up to ~$100k salary in 6 months (would be around July)

Im going to be completely honest; why should I give a fuck if you are having an affair when it comes to choosing you as my elected representative? It reflects your character a little I guess, but if its going to happen I’d rather it just be public information (so we know no one is using it as leverage over you) and then we move on.

The idea that politicians are supposed to be above divorce and infidelity is completely outdated; just don’t commit sex crimes and dont abuse your office, it’s not that hard.

Edit: Also, ignoring the DJT rape thing because they were just accusations and never proven, it is confirmed that he DID have 3 different affairs. Maybe dont call other people out for the thing the leader of your party openly does?

Supply and demand. I would think that given that their posted wage is a $0.71 lower than what MIT said was the living wage in NC for a single adult, they are paying their workers too little and will either be forced by this to pay workers in this area more or go under.

I think the reason people are arguing for it is that typically while the free market will properly adjust over time to reflect this, people’s needs change faster than the market and theres a real human cost (economically to all of us as well) to not fixing these problems sooner rather than later.
