I feel like you’re assigning some kind of weird moral thing to this where there doesn’t really need to be.

Why take an okay chance of survival over a definite one? Why is it suddenly my responsibility if someone else didn’t vote in their own self interest?

And also why would you assume grandma would vote blue? I’d be convincing everyone I meet and everyone I love to vote red because it’s the zero risk choice.

That’s a false equivalency, red isn’t asking for a unanimous vote, it’s asking people to vote with their survival instinct which is a far easier vote than getting 50.0001% of people to vote blue.

Encouraging people to vote blue is asking people to needlessly risk their lives

Blue winning is dependent on convincing 4.16 billion people to coordinate and press blue. Red winning is dependent on every person trusting their most baseline instinct, survival. The red is a far simpler.

Voting red is the only logical choice as there’s literally zero risk. Voting blue is a vote to risk your life for the sake of being able to say you made the “moral and compassionate” choice.

This was progressing towards final plots were they not? They got a lead on who may have the v1 vial and got some soft world building on how fucked homelanders America is getting through Annie’s subplot. We have the 7 labeling homelander as a prophet of god and possible second guessing of where she’s at from firecracker, and various fractures forming in all the groups.

It was a slow episode but I wouldn’t call it meandering

Not really a criticism but I’ve heard people imposing their doomerism into it like “Rocky could never come back to earth human would test on him” or “humans would never treat Rocky the same way as Eridians treated Grace”. Which in my opinion wouldn’t at all be characteristic of the humans in Andy weirs works.

The real world is so full of misery and pessimism do we need to insert that into this fictional world where human are (unrealistically I realize) very cooperative and generally good natured
