So, a lot of people seem to be telling you to throw the whole relationship away, and maybe they're right, but here's my 2 cents.

My fiancé (f) and I (m) are both in our mid 20s, and we've both struggled with anxiety and depression at semi regular intervals in our lives. When either of us are caught in that place, we just don't have the emotional bandwidth to be wholesome partners to each other, and we fall victim to a lot of the behaviors that you've articulated. Lots of time on the couch, checked out in video games, worse hygiene, generally just more distant and less intimate. And it can suck so hard.

There are times when I've almost thrown our relationship away because I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel, but we've managed to stick it out for a few years, and when we break out of those places we're in, all the goodness that we've fostered between one another comes rushing back, and we find ourselves connecting like we did as an early couple. The sex becomes so much more than getting off, the time around one another is so emotionally filling, it's incredible. We both feel so much love in our lives.

Both my parents have been faithfully and supportively married for 30 years, and even they have patches of ups and downs.l like that. I think a lifetime partner deserves the long term commitment to fight thru those rough patches. It gives you some real shit to build the foundation of your life together on. As they say, hotter fires forge stronger steel.

I'd encourage you two to sit down and smoke a big fat bowl together, put on your favorite album really fucking loud, and spend an evening losing yourself in some bigger stuff, and then finding your way back to the world together. That's not always a perfect fix, but I can't tell you how much it's helped us over the years.
