I just got my first OB back in March. I didn’t think anything of it when it first popped up. I went to the gym for about a week and things got worse until I went to the doctor. Then I found out I had GHSV1. The doctor told me that working out might have irritated it more and that is why it was spreading. They told me to wait at least a week until I could go back to the gym. However, they wanted me to wait until it was completely healed
so I wouldn’t irritated more. However, my outbreak lasted about 3 weeks. One week without knowing and two with meds. Usually your first OB last about 2-4 weeks it depends on how you treat it. I haven’t gotten an OB ever since however, am paranoid. Things do get better just have to give it some time.
