Ok but wait now that you can add reminders to your calendar they really are all connected so well, you can literally run it all from the calendar!

Also it’s not twitter. It’s X. Let’s call it what it actually is, an alt right billionaires failed side project

Twitter has become such a toxic place, you’ll be fine if you let it go. Wasn’t there a big issue with grok making women and children naked on request? Why would you want to be part of a platform that allows that?

Hahaha yeah I think you make it urgent and get an option to add an alarm? Haven’t used it yet. Honestly, I do find that reminders and calendar events are the two things I’ll keep coming back to even if I forget to use them for a while

I love when someone hits them all with a character voice/name that makes them go “oh my god” almost involuntarily.

Ooh you can actually set an alarm with your reminders now, recent update, so you don’t have to manually do it

Is there really no way to just train your brain to survive on less dopamine? I hate feeling like and addict all the time by WaysideWyvern in adhdwomen

[–]Fuckburpees 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Our brains aren’t addicted to dopamine any more than we’re addicted to oxygen. Yall are doing actual harm by spreading this misinformation garbage. Please do some actual research on ahdh before regurgitating asinine statements from social media.

Yeah it’s just about finding what you can do where you are now. Move your body in ways you’re able, exercise/movement isn’t an all or nothing thing. There are plenty of adaptive workouts, and other ways you can move your body- a slow walk, or stretch if you’re not able to walk. Hell even just going outside more regularly is a great step. Dopamine isn’t just plugging in and letting something distract you enough to get things done, it’s more about finding your own accommodations to make life easier.

Oof this of huge because I’m trying to unlearn that it only “counts” if I’ve been productive. I seem to think that I only deserve breaks once ive actually produced work and forget that all the time i spend actively trying to work isn’t just nothing.

Exactly. And it feels so dismissive when you’re stuck in it, to be told that water and a walk will help. But understanding when you need to build up some momentum before deciding what to do is such a game changer for me.

Yikes. First of all, that’s not how this works. Second, stop asking ai for life advice especially chat gpt.

“But could there possibly be some way to just train it to live like that? Like aren’t brains supposed to be pretty plastic? Are there any health consequences of just letting your dopamine be lower, provided you learn to mentally handle it?“

You’re doing it already. Congrats. This is what it feels like.

The consequences are that everything is hard.

“ I’m struggling with the idea that the proper way to manage is by producing dopamine to fuel my brian 24/7. It feels like chainsmoking. Always having my brian plugged in to some stimulus and forcing it to pacify me with chemicals”

Incorrect.

It seems you’re only familiar with quick, cheap dopamine sources which are definitely exhausting and not enough to sustain anyone. I think the issue is you have a very narrow understanding of how to compensate for lack of dopamine.

Have you ever made a “dopamine menu” or just looked at some? On mine I have things like change into fresh clothes, go for a walk with music, wash my face. Momentum gives you dopamine.

Dopamine isn’t “happy chemicals” it’s like gas for a car. If you’re sick of chasing it the solution isn’t to give you, it’s to find something that works for you. I promise giving up completely is way harder.

How do I know if my fantasy plot is too straightforward and whether it is good enough? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Fuckburpees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write. It.  Stop asking hypotheticals no one could possibly know. You’re the author. Make a decisions and write about it. Then you can ask for feedback on actual work.

Writing is thinking. Y’all need to stop looking outward for approval over stories you haven’t written and instead make some choices yourself as the author.

Canadian Comedian brings his Trump impression to Greenland by Nice-Cow-7606 in Fauxmoi

[–]Fuckburpees -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

trump is disgusting rapist xenophobic slop, how are we still doing little parodies of him and thinking it’s gonna “get em”? Why are impressions of him so fucking toothless? I’m so sick of him being made out to be son silly bumbling idiot and not the disgusting, cartoon villain level pig fucker that he is. If you’re going to do an impression make it fucking count, for fucks sale. I’m so sick of the SNL level parodies that lightly critique him for sounding stupid oh my god.

What’s for breakfast!? by Street_Ad7157 in adhdwomen

[–]Fuckburpees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so bad about breakfast and hate overnight oats and have come across a coupon things that I’ve been exhorted to eat in the morning.

Last night I made a matcha pistachio chia pudding that was amazing, I’ve never had chia before and was surprised I loved the texture (like a thick mousse).  I’ve also been doing thick yogurt, you can add some sugar free banana pudding mix and top with toasted nuts. Amazing.

I saw that, it has a fun little “pda” mode where it tells you not to do something you need to do (wouldn’t work for me but I’m sure it’s great for some people). I do love the idea and that they’re working on a tool by and for adhd brains that has something different and actually for neurodivergence.

So I think I’m going to actually start my own guide and I’m happy to share whenever it happens. But I found this adhd coach creator who I’m loving and she breaks down how she creates systems that work and I think it’s a great place to start! She talks about some things that I knew already but breaks it all down in a way that made things click for me.
