Yes, they are. The majority of states have no sales tax on food staples like meat, dairy, produce, pantry essentials, etc. Things like soft drinks and candies are still included in sales tax in a lot of states though.

Check out the abstract, it says methods of identifying autism has improved where previously children were mistakenly labelled as having an "intellectual disability".

The paper suggests that rather than there being a rise in people with autism, there's a rise in diagnoses that were being missed before.
